Fairly new to diving and wanted to get a computer before our dives in April. Borrowed a Gecko for my wife and I decided to get the Vyper. Didn't need the backlight but it was nice to know I had it. The Vyper has a thicker (more protective) strap than the gecko has. Overall we were happy with both.

The computer so far has worked as advertised. The only problem with buying this computer from leisurepro is they are NOT an approved dealer. Thus, Suunto will not extend a warranty to Suunto equipment purchased from Leisurepro. Suunto products not purchased from an authorized dealer are considered, by Suunto, to be "grey merchandise". Leisurepro is specifically mentioned on Aqualung's website...they own Suunto.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "Vyper" Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer, Silver:

I have no reason to think this is not as good as they say. However, this is our first dive computer so we have no benchmark. We really need the free class promised. Unfortunately they make no more reference to the online class once you buy the computer. No contact to ask how to get the class, nothing. Don't buy unless you already know how to operate the computer or like complicated manuals.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "Vyper" Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer, Silver:

awesome computer, does the job really well. It shows (in big numbers) what you really need to know in one screen (avoids you from anvigating through screens while diving, which I find really anoying and distracting).
Instructions are as simple as they get. It comes with a handy isntructions-summary sheet that you can take with you and leads you through the meuns really easily.
The cons.. it's not fancy. it's quite bulky, so you wouldn't use it as a normal watch after diving. But I don't care, bc I never wear watches anyway!

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "Vyper" Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer, Silver:

Very easy to use after a quick review of the owner's manual (mine came in English unlike other reviews I read). Went diving about a month after getting it and the lami quick reference card was great for a quick refresher before the dive. Very easy to push the buttons underwater and easy to understand/read while using. Exactly what I was looking for in a recreational dive computer, much better than my previous Mares computer that sprung a leak and died.

      Service and delivery comments:

I would definiatly buy from LeisurePro again. Very quick delivery, everything was packaged well and arrived in great condition. Not to mention the great price.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "Vyper" Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer, Silver:

Very easy to use and operate. Not overly conservative but not as aggressive as some computers I have seen. I had about 2 minutes less than my dads computer at 100 feet on our first dive and after 3 dives he had about 5 minutes more at 100 feet. That extra time would have been nice.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "Vyper" Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer, Silver:

This is my 1st computer Ive owned. Ive done many dives without a computer and I am glad I made the decision to get this one. So far I have over 40 dives on it and it has preformed flawlessly! The display is easy to read and the functions and menus are straight foward. I took it straight out of the box and learned it without the manual in less than a 1/2 hour of playing around. The data is (depth/temp/time ect.) is spot on accurate. Overall I am very impressed with the way it looks and preforms. I would reccomend it to any diver that is looking for a straight foward and reliable copmuter.
