DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Wrist Computer, Transmitter, PC Interface Cable & Software, Digital Online Class

Suunto D9 is a highly advanced all-in-one dive computer. It combines all dive-critical information - such as depth, time, tank pressure, decompression status and direction - in one instrument, conveniently mounted on your wrist

Wireless air integration

Wireless air integration, Suunto D9 allows you to monitor tank pressure and air consumption from your wrist. Tank pressure is displayed both numerically and graphically, and an estimation of the remaining air time is given throughout the dive

Digital navigation

Suunto D9 displays a graphical representation of a compass rose. The rose displays the cardinal and half cardinal points, and the current bearing is also displayed numerically. A bearing can be locked to help you follow a selected course, and directional arrows point towards the locked bearing.

Multi-mode versatility

Suunto D9 has three dive modes. The Air mode is used for diving with standard air, the Nitrox mode for up to three nitrox mixes, and the Gauge mode for use as a bottom timer.

When in Nitrox mode, you can accelerate decompression by switching to a gas mix with a higher oxygen percentage. You can preset three different gas mixes (with between 21% and 99% oxygen) and set PO2 values for each individual gas. While diving, it's quick and easy to switch between enabled gas mixes.

In the Gauge mode, Suunto D9 works as a bottom timer and also provides accurate profile sampling and bookmarking functions. A dive timer with a reset function displays the dive time in minutes and seconds. This is extremely useful for timing accurate bottom times and decompression stops.

Flexible decompression

Using the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm, Suunto D9 enables continuous decompression for optimal ascent time. For deeper dives, the Deep Stop option adds further protection with a series of deep stops between your maximum depth and ceiling.

Plan and review

You can test upcoming dives and view no-decompression time data for different depths before getting in the water with the built-in dive planner. When the dive is over, use the included Suunto Dive Manager PC software to transfer your dive data to your computer for further analysis and to maintain a detailed logbook featuring graphical representation of all your dives.

As stylish on dry land as it is in the water

As well as being a full-featured dive computer, Suunto D9 is a stylishly designed watch that can be worn as an everyday timepiece

I fell in love with the D9 as soon as it came out. It is easy to use, reliable and obviously the first "all in one" computer available. When Suunto released images of the D9 Titanium Strap, many of my customers, (and me) just wanted it... NOW! And it does look amazing in real life as well as the picture. However, there is only one downside, and this is that they have purposly left out a strap extender! Crazy!! :-( The Suunto Stinger Titanium had one and it was perfect whether you had a 3mm, 5mm, or 7mm suit or even a drysuit, it handled them all. I have contacted Suunto to ask why and they have said it was a decision they made and they are not going to release one. I still bought one and so have several of my customers, however only 40% of those people on my waiting list decided to buy once they found out it didn't have the extender. Please Suunto, realise there is more money to be made by selling (even as an add-on option) an extender for this, the ultimate Suunto Computer ever made! It is a status symbol, but it still has to be used in the real world. Having to remove the titanium strap and attaching the rubber one back on just to have a dive is too much for 60% of my customers, make some more money and build one!!

This is a good dive computer...no doubt about it. It appears to be well made, and has every function that most recreational users could dream of. keeping its form factor as small as possible inevitably leads to compromises...it's not that the key info is too small, it's just that you have to really look at the display to read the info...larger displays (such as uwatec) mean that a quick glance is all that is needed to know how the dive is progressing.
The user interface is not intuitive...there is no way that you could use this computer without reading the manual first (not that I would ever recommend using a dive computer without reading the instructions)...
Biggest gripe is the pairing procedure...The Suunto does not remember the transmitter code, so every time you change tanks you have to put the D9 next to the transmitter so that it locks on....

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "D9" Hoseless Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer with Transmitter:

I bought this computer and took the online course that came with it (do it!! it makes life so easy!) and proceeded to go diving in cozumel mexico. It was fantastic! i tested every alarm i had set from depth, to dive time, to tank pressure and it performed flawlessly.

UNTIL my 2nd dive of the day when during my safety stop my tank pressure indication was flashing 60bar/FAIL and continued to flash that until after coming out of dive mode. Luckily the dive center i was with lent me a pressure gauge and actually hand delivered me a pressure gauge and hose from a local dive shop, or that would have been the end of my 2 week diving trip after only 1 afternoon.

lesson to be taken, the computer is GREAT! the transmitter option is fantastic! but have a back up. i have since reconfigured my gear to always have a back up pressure gauge tucked away should this problem ever happen again.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto "D9" Hoseless Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer with Transmitter:

Purchased 2 of these for my wife and i before our last dive trip and really couldnt understand why we didn't step up to this computer sooner. Easy to ready, easy to plan and keep track of dives, takes all the thinking out of it and it lets you enjoy the dives. Compared it to other divers computers on this last trip and it came out on top! i would highly recommend this computer.

This is the best computer ever. It is extremely easy to use.

I would not bother going for the titanium band if you are female. It is just too much...
