DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Computer, Digital Online Class

If you see diving more as a way of life than as a hobby, then the Suunto D6 is the computer for you. By wearing the D6 during your dives, you're able to record information about each dive's maximum depth, directions traveled, time at depth, and decompression information. The easy-to-read display offers you the ability to quickly review your dive's crucial statistics.

Because of Suunto's integrated RGBM system, the D6 allows you to make repeated stops at various depths, instead of making a more traditional single safety stop to decompress. This feature allows you to maximize your time below the surface without compromising your safety.

If diving with Nitrox, the D6 offers you the ability to easily switch between gases during the dive, which means you can alter your oxygen levels as you ascend, reducing the length of your required decompression stop.

FEATURES
  • Gas-switching functionality
  • Air and Nitrox-compatible
  • Bottom timer (Gauge mode)
  • Integrated digital compass
  • Safety features: Decompression stop calculator, Ascent rate indicator
  • PC download compatible
  • Electronic dive log

ITEM INCLUDES
Computer, Digital Online Class

Bought the item for a diving trip to Cozumel. It worked beautifully and was easy to understand. The manual could be a little better with larger print and clearer pictures of the part of the computer that the manual is trying to explain. A few things that puzzled me on my first dive had a lot more to do with my lack of experience as a diver than a problem with the computer. Since I set the depth and time way too conservatively at the beginning, the D6 was beeping at me like crazy, but after I adjusted the setting to something more realistic to the environment I was diving in, it "behaved" better. LOL!! I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a stylish, great looking, not HUGE (big though), reliable and reputable diving computer. I can't wait to take it to Rio de Janeiro in a couple of weeks.

I'm a pro diver and have nothing but problems with this model. Poor design on the band design, plastic glued to a metal piece that breaks super easy, I have broke three so far... Also this is my second d6. First died around 850 dives, less than a year old. Also buttons stick a lot!

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I have the Suunto Vytec, so I thought I would be pretty familiar with setting up and diving this computer. Maybe it's me, but it's a lot more difficult to figure out. I've dived with it but only as a backup and so that I can figure it out later. I am in my 50s and have a lot of difficulty reading it during a dive. It's a much smaller face than the Vytec. One of the main features I was very excited about was the digital compass. However, I can't even read it during the dive because of the small face. I have yet to figure out how to change my settings such as my nitrox percentage, my PO. The instructions are difficult to follow. It's hit and miss what I've figured out so far. Maybe a more technically inclined diver with better up-close vision would appreciate this computer more. So if you are bifocal inclined and not too sharp with computers and difficult-to-follow instructions, this computer is not for you.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I have been using Suunto computers for about 20 years and swear by them. But in my old age, I dive with two computers. Luckily, in my last liveabord dives, one of my computers malfunctioned and the other computer saved the trip. The D6 will replace the computer with a dead pressure sensor and additional compass. The icing on the cake is the integrated compass. I gave the computer four flags because I can't use the Download Kit with my Mac that always accompanies me on dives. My big gripe with Suunto computers of old, was that they would revert to air diving at the most inopportune time - just before you did your backward roll entry. The D6 will not do that. You have to tell it that you want to dive Air. The elastomer strap feels good, and is very substantial. When my old computers die of old edge, I will replace them with D6s.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

Wear it daily as i'm an instructor and have for more than 2 years. Love many things about this computer however i was happier with my sunnto stinger w/ wrist strap compass. More durable and most don't need all the bells and whistles in the D6. Watch your wrist straps as i've seen many break. Very disappointed w/ the straps for the money of this computer.

Bought D6 in April 2008. Screen went blank during my 2nd (out of 5 days) dive liveaboard in the Similan, Thailand in December 2009. Was told that it's not a battery problem. Hope that this is under warranty, if not, it's going to cost a bomb to be sent to Finland for repair.
