I purchased this camera to replace my 35mm Sealife camera, which I had over 5 years and flooded out. This was my first dive trip with this camera and I took it on a shark dive and feeding in the Bahamas (see the attached picture). Pictures are great when there is more light on the subject, which means the dive can't be that deep. Where light was more available the pictures came out great. Also used the camera for land shots and they came out decent. As with my other pocket digital camera, night shots are not that great, so did not expect more out of this camera. Luckily you can purchase an external flash, which may solve that problem both in and out of the water. I plan to add the zoom lense, which I wish I bought at the same time with the camera.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm trying to do too much with the camera, or if it's just not a very good camera, but the photo quality was poor on first couple of dives with it. With other cameras I've owned, I've always had good success going as manual as I can when diving. This camera seems to be either be out of focus (it's a fixed focus camera), or the exposure is so long that the pictures are blurry. Either way they are not very good. The photos tend to be pixelated as well. I'm going to try the sea mode next time I use it and see if that works better than manually setting the white balance and having the flash off. It also has a voracious appetite for batteries. Fresh alkalines do not last through a 2-tank dive even if the flash is off the entire time and the camera is powered down between dives. SeaLife recommends that you do NOT change batteries on the boat, so this is a bad thing.

If I can update this review after further use, I will.

Comments about SeaLife SL320 ReefMaster Mini Digital Camera:

I did 4 dives with the camera in Grand Cayman and Cozumel in Jan. 2009. I practiced a little at the beach 1st. Most pictures came out "OK" Some were "great". I also purchased the wide angle lens, those pictures came out better than without it. First be as still and as close a possible. The zoom works well too. Overall, I think it's a great little camera, my land pics don't look that good... may have been a setting of something...
You will need to read and re-read the manual too, there is a lot stuff in there you'll need to know.

Comments about SeaLife SL320 ReefMaster Mini Digital Camera:

Love it! Mywife and I are new to diving and underwater photography, and the point-and-shoot is a good way to get started. Our only complaint is the time lapse from depressing the shutter until the picture is actually taken, so you don't get the opportunity to shoot several quick pictures.
