DESCRIPTION
If you are the type of diver who wants cutting edge technology with you at depth, look no further that the SCUBAPRO Seawing Nova fin. This fin comes with the security of the SCUBAPRO name with the thrill of SCUBAPRO innovation.

The Seawing Nova brags of having an articulated joint, which will propel you through the water with ease, speed, agility, and amazing comfort. What makes the Seawing Nova so amazing? First, it has variable blade geometry; second, it has an articulated joint. What is an articulated joint? Think about how a dolphin's tail moves as it swims; the natural structure of the tail bends as if it is on a hinge and provides the dolphin with remarkable power. The same science was applied during the development of the Seawing Nova. The variable blade geometry brings us back to the dolphin. As a dolphin's tail moves upward, the tips bend down a bit to make it more streamlined. The Seawing Nova's edges do the same thing as the diver's kick is on the upward swing. As the foot moves downward, the fin flattens out to create an amazing amount of power and thrust.

The Seawing Nova fins are made using high-tech elastomer construction, which means they are stronger and more flexible than you'll ever need them to be. An added bonus to the Seawing Nova fins are the bungee heel strap. This design frees you from fumbling with heel strap clasps (a true pain for people wearing thick dive gloves and nearly impossible for those wearing dive mitts) and the annoying task of cinching down your heel straps. Simply slide the strap over your heel and you're ready to go with a perfect fit. Go ahead give them a try; you won't be sorry.

I am new to scuba diving, but an avid snorkeler. I have tried many fins in the past and these are the fastest, lightest most comfortable fins I have ever used. On a recent trip to the USVI my wife and I decided to get our open water certs. We both bought a set of these at our LDS (For alot more $$)and used them for 7 days straight. I am in less than great shape being 6'1" 295lbs. I NEVER felt strain, excess resistance or even tired for that matter. These are so easy to put on and pull off even under water. For the first time ever I did not have to adjust anything, and frankly did not notice them at all. The flex joints provide amazing power. Great product here.

I am a Dive Master and would've scored these fins off the charts until today! One broke at the hinge as a result of some hard current diving yesterday. Lucky for me one broke during a recreational shore dive coming back in. I have less than 100 dives on these fins. Going back to my Mares Superchannel and Apollo Bio fin. I was hoping to be able to use a single fin and these fit the bill until one broke

Careful w/ Giant Strides - FRAGILE

Comments about Scubapro Seawing Nova Open Heel Fins:

I first began using my Seawings in July of 2011. They were perfect up util the 50th dive I used them on (January 2012). While making a giant stride entry off of a dock, I felt the one fin bend too far up towards my knee upon hitting the surface of the water. Sure enough I looked at the "stalk" that connects the fin to the boot-cup, and one of them was torn nearly all the way through (a small tear could be seen in the other stalk). This happened on the last dive of my trip, which just happened to take place after a dive that involved some very heavy swimming against a very strong current. Whether or not this heavy current possibly weakened the Seawing first, I have no idea. I was able to finish the last dive, but the fins clearly can't be used anymore.

I will probably purchase another set (they are hands down the fastest, most powerful fins I have ever used), however, I will not be doing any more giant stride entries with them on (I'll clip em onto my BC and just put them on once I'm in the water).

Comments about Scubapro Seawing Nova Open Heel Fins:

These fins were great until they broke. As far as efficiency and ease of use, I rate them up with the Slingshot and the Bio Fin. It was easy to get a lot of speed and power out of them. Unfortunately they both broke on the same dive and in identical places on each fin. I returned them to Leisure Pro, who replaced them with a new model. This new model has been redisigned without the big cuts in the top of the fins where they had broken. It is obvious the manufacturer reaiized it had a design problem. I haven't been back in the water with the new fins, but I hope they work as good as the orginals without being quite so fragile.

Comments about Scubapro Seawing Nova Open Heel Fins:

the Seawing Novas have 5 oz. of buoyancy per fin. I calculated that with the density of the material they're made out of (Monprene). I actually prefer the slight positive as it keeps my fins from hitting the corals while I'm trying to take photos.
