DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:FREE Light, 3 Watt LED Flashlight, 8 AA Alkaline Batteries, Wrist Lanyard and Owner's Manual

Power meets versatility in the Torrent LED. It's small enough to be a backup light, but with a 126 Lumen 3-Watt Max-Bright LED, it's more than powerful enough to be a main source. Dive lights aren't just for night diving, and the Torrent LED is Princeton Tec's favorite dive light for looking into caves/crevices, restoring lost colors at depth, and daytime wreck diving. For those who need a great backup, an efficient main source, or just all around great dive light, the Torrent LED is all of the above. A simple switching mechanism and a 330' (100 meters) waterproof rating ensure that the Torrent LED will be shining bright whenever and wherever you need it to go.

This 8 AA Cell Battery (included) dive light is excellent for local diving or for putting in your gear bag for vacation travel. The durable LED bulb will last about 10,000 hours and will bring out the true colors of all your underwater adventures. The light has a Burn time of 30 Hours on a set of fresh batteries. Light comes equipped with an Adjustable Wrist Lanyard and weighs 12.87 oz (365 g) with batteries.

This Torrent Princeton Tec light features regulated LED's a sophisticated regulating circuit that maintains initial brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage. Traditional lights are very bright initially, but immediately begin to dim and continue to dim until the batteries are drained. Constant Brightness is a term used to describe products that have regulated LED's. The Torrent also has an LED Optic Collimator. A collimator gathers all available light from the LED in the form of scattered rays and re-emits the light as parallel rays, making it more optically efficient than a standard reflector. Princeton Tec calibrates each collimator to the type of LED and application of each light. With proprietary optimized collimator / lens systems, Princeton Tec continues to advance LED technology.

Princeton Tec has developed proprietary ultra light heat sinks to protect the LED from overheating. Even though the LED operates at much lower temperatures than traditional incandescent bulbs, it still generates heat. If this heat is not dissipated, the LED will suffer irreversible damage. By using heat sinks, Princeton Tec lights can burn at extreme brightness levels for long periods of time. The Torrent has a Focused Wide Light Beam, comes with an Owner's Manual and is available in 3 color choices. You also receive a Free Light with the purchase of the Torrent!

Just received light, so have not tested in water yet. Played with it at night in some dark places and in my pool. Beam seems pretty bright. I bought 2 of them (for my kids) and one is a little brighter than the other. Both are new out of the package and have the same alkaline batteries in them.

Also, I thought I was buying the "newer" 95 lumen model, but the back of the package under specifications says 47 lumens, so I will have to enquire about that. If anyone has more info on this, please advise....

Good when compared to other 2nd generation led lights, but poor performer when compared to the current 3rd gen lights. This light is rated as a 95 lumen light, a bit of a stretch. When placed next to the SL4 Eled, the beam from this light isn't even noticeable. For the 10 or 15 dollar difference, I'd go with the UK SL4 Eled. A little too bulky for a backup light, too dim for a primary.

I purchased this light for my son after using mine for numerous dives. I carry it on every dive to look into dark spaces and as my backup on night dives.

Just spent a week in Cozumel and used this light for a couple of night dives and a wreck dive. It was more effective than my brother's $150 light. Very pleased.

Great flashlight. Only downside is it's too bright up close (within 1 foot). Don't see that as a much of an issue.

Comments about Princeton Tec NEW 126 Lumens Torrent LED Dive Light:

I think this is a great light. I got this light as a backup to my 250 lumens light. This light is rated 95 lumens, but it seems brighter than my 250. I think I'm going to use this as my primary light instead. Also like that I can turn off and on with one hand, and that it has a button to lock in off mode. Very light and comfortable to night dive with.

Good light, but every time I dive with it and try to clean it after, it's impossible to remove the cap without a vice.

            Good for a budget.
