Oceanic's Slim-Line Octopus is a super streamlined downstream demand valve alternate air source that lies flat to reduce drag and prevent tangles. Octopus is equipped with an Integrated Rubber Purge Cover in High Visibility Yellow for easy identification. Extra long High Visibility Hose comes standard.

    This is the second SlimLine2 I have purchased; on the first the purge cover cracked and then crumbled away over several dives. The material for the cover does not seem strong enough to stand up to any rough handling. Perhaps this has been resolved in the newer model. However, for the price, this is a nice compact octo and tucks away easy.

    Problem octo reg

    I use this on my pony tank for self rescue and have two complaints. First it breathes hard, but the worst thing is that for the second time when I tested it underwater it violently freeflowed forcing me to shut down the valve on the tank. I checked the 1st stage IP and it's fine so the problem is with this second stage. And after the first incident like this I had it serviced.

    I would advise avoiding this one.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        I don't recommend it for two reasons: it breathes hard, my previous Oceanic Slimline just fell apart, and this one looks similar.

            Breathes reasonably. No freeflow, easy to purge. Bright yellow hose and purge valve. Compact design makes it easy to carry with less drag.

            Switched from Sherwood Shadow to have an all-Oceanic regulator, simplifying annual maintenance.
