I've got one of these, and one of the originals, both have and continue to serve me well as octos on each of my reg sets. These are tough little low-profile, reliable secondaries. They breathe well inverted and right side up at 30ft or 130, never free-flow when giant-striding. Never had an issue with the diaphragm covers in many many years of ownership (don't leave in sun longer than required to dry, and I almost never use the purge buttons). Changes to the slimline 2 do make it breathe quieter than the original roller-arm valve, and slightly easier to clear with the smoother internal surfaces. Very solid performer at regular price, fantastic value on sale.

I use this on my pony tank for self rescue and have two complaints. First it breathes hard, but the worst thing is that for the second time when I tested it underwater it violently freeflowed forcing me to shut down the valve on the tank. I checked the 1st stage IP and it's fine so the problem is with this second stage. And after the first incident like this I had it serviced.

I would advise avoiding this one.

Good design, slim and lightweight. The material of the purge cover can be improved though. I have to wait and see if this lasts for over a year.

I don't recommend it for two reasons: it breathes hard, my previous Oceanic Slimline just fell apart, and this one looks similar.
