Whats in the box:BCD, LP Quick Disconnect Hose
Some dive gear is suitable for use by men or women, some isn't. Oceanic's Isla BCD is gender specific; it was designed to accommodate a woman's anatomy.
The Isla's female-specific features include:
- No chest strap
- Shoulder straps that are padded, covered with a soft material and utilize the Adjustable Positioning System
- A bladder curved to fit over a woman's hips
- Interior surfaces of soft material
Although designed for women, the jacket style Isla has the features and functions all divers expect. These include:
- An adjustable cummerbund
- Carrying handle
- Molded tank cradle with nonslip pad
- Padded backpack
- 8 sturdy plastic D-rings for accessories
- A large pocket on each side. The Isla's are zippered
- Rear pull dump. The Isla's has the pull on the front, where it's easy find
- Twin weight pockets on the back. Each of these pockets holds up to five pounds of non dumpable weight
Features exclusive to Oceanic BCs include: Quick Lock and Release (QLR) integrated weight system. The releasable pockets on the Isla hold up to 20 pounds of weight. They are held in place with a mechanical locking mechanism that prevents accidental release. Weights are secured inside the pockets so they don't shift when you move around.
A bladder made of Oceanic's patented Bioflex, the only bladder material on the market that stretches. The bladder lies flat when deflated, reducing drag.
Shoulders and pockets of 1600 denier fade resistant nylon.
Fitting for an optional Instrument Retractor.
The Isla comes in three sizes. The small offers 21 pounds of lift, the medium, 23, and the large, 28.
