DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:1st Stage, 2nd Stage and Low Pressure Braided Hose

Every breath is a dream come true.
For over 30 years, Oceanic's R&D group has taken advantage of new materials, development of rapid prototyping, advanced computer aided design systems, objective testing, and lots of open water dives in an effort to develop a regulator with the lowest measurable inhalation effort in order to provide air to a diver at the extremes of human capacity.

When engineering brought the near complete EOS in for conformational testing the results were so astounding, the laboratory stopped testing and performed a complete calibration of all instruments, and in re-testing the EOS was found to have a near effortless inhalation resistive effort on test after test. Perfect.

Comprised of precision-machined components and extensive research and design, the EOS regulator has achieved an incredible feat lifelike breathing. Oceanic's gifted team of design engineers has included effortless breathing, inhalation effort adjustments, and comfortable second s tage swivels and orthodontic mouthpieces into a regulator that you can hold in the palm of your hand. This is far more than just another regulator in the eyes of the Oceanic team, this is a dream come true.

Comments about Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT Regulator with Swivel:

This reg delivers everything that the manufacturer says it does and more... The FDX10 1st Stage w/DVT paired with the EOS 2nd Stage is so balanced that you will think you are breathing on the surface even though you are at 100 feet... The dive/pre-dive switch is large and easy to adjust AND it works as designed... You just make sure that you set it to pre-dive before you hit the water and once you're under, roll it to dive and you're done... The breathing effort is controlled by the easily gripped knob and once you have it set to your preference, just leave it there, no need to fiddle with it, unless you want to... As for free flow issues, well, I had to make mine free flow by turning it mouthpiece UP on the surface... I just had to move the venturi switch to pre-dive and the free flow stopped immediately... The DVT feature on the FDX10 helps to keep the "cooties" out and the internal surfaces clean and safe from contamination... Thanks to Oceanic for making a fine, completely adjustable regulator that will serve me in my profession for a good, long time..!

Comments about Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT Regulator with Swivel:

The EOS is the best breathing regulator I have ever owned, and I have been diving for about 40 years. Additionally, you can't beat Oceanic's reputation for quality and service.

Comments about Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT Regulator with Swivel:

On my second open water dive the regulator went into free flow when I was demonstrating how to recover your second stage. I tapped it in my palm, and it wouldn't stop. I handed it to my instructor who was right there with me and went to my alternate secondary. He tried moving all of the adjustments and he could not make it stop either. We were at 20 feet, when we surfaced the tank was empty. Regulator was sent back to Dive shop then Oceanic factory. The factory has been very vague, first said they would ship me a different new one, then when I looked at it and compared serial numbers I pointed out to dive shop that it was same regulator. Upon further inquiry with factory we found paper work saying parts had been replaced. I hope that information is true and the regulator is safe to use by me or whoever winds up with it.

Comments about Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT Regulator with Swivel:

this reg is great once you're breathing off it, but there's one big flaw: the hose is only 30" long. its just long enough to use comfortably. it makes for a slightly more streamlined package, but that causes other problems: it's really too short to share with a buddy - that means you shouldn't use it with a combo octo/inflater. that eliminates the streamlining advantage right there. also when you switch from a snorkel to your reg its harder to find (even with a sweep). replacing the hose isn't a option either - the hose and swivel are one unit that has a non-standard male fitting going into the 2nd stage. it you plan to never use a combo octo - it's a 5, otherwise don't bother

Comments about Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT Regulator with Swivel:

Me and my fiance got certified and have always wanted to scuba, so we decided to purchase our own equipment. I did an extensive amount of research on all kinds of regulators, and believe me when I say that this is one of the best regulators you will get for the price, and from what I can see, it is just as good as the more expensive ones. I cant really speak to the longevity of the regulator as we have only had them for a short time, but I can say that so far its been flawless, and we have been on about 15 dives so far. The regulator is extremely easy to breath through, even when we went to 100 ft. I couldn't feel a difference in breathing from 30 ft to 100 ft, its that easy. The quick adjustment knob and levers are great, as they allow you to make small adjustments in the water without having to remove the regulator from your mouth. One thing to be careful of, when the lever is all the way in the forward position for easier breathing, you cant purge the regulator out of the water or you will trigger a free-flow and loose a bunch of air! I figured that out the hard way. It only happens out of the water though, in the water everything is FANTASTIC!!! If you are looking for a great regulator for a good price and don't want to spend over $600 on one, then this is definitely the way to go!
