The Vector Origin Buoyancy Compensator by Mares is a full featured jacket style buoyancy compensator. Vector Origin includes a zippered pocket, metal D-rings, two overpressure relief valves, adjustable waistband, Ergo Inflator System and padded backpack. This unique combination of features and comfort includes many deluxe options rarely found on comparably priced models The Mares Vector Origin is the perfect buoyancy vest for the diver who wants basic buoyancy compensation in a package that provides safe and stable cylinder control. The Mares Vector Origin features a classic Mares air cell made from 840 denier Nylon.

If I had to do it over again

I have gone on 17 dives with this BCD. I have had problems with it shifting and rubbing on my neck. Not sure what the problem is, but it is annoying at best. <...Read complete review

I have gone on 17 dives with this BCD. I have had problems with it shifting and rubbing on my neck. Not sure what the problem is, but it is annoying at best.

I will probably order another BCD with an integrated weight system. It is less to put on and take off, and you don't have to ratchet a weight-belt to you so tightly to compensate for your wetsuit compressing at depth.

    Great entry/mid level BC from a quality manufacturer (my current 12 year old Mares BC is being relegated to a back-up role). Not a lot of bells and whistles, but in my mind that means less to go wrong. The zippered pockets could be a little larger, but other than that, it performs as advertised. I got mine on Tuesday and did a quick shore dive on Thursday. Overall, very satisfied. I would give it a four and a half star rating. Since we can't rate with half stars, I will give it a five instead of a four. Why rent beat-up junk when you can own a quality BC at such a great price!

      Only have 10 dives before. Make 16 dives with this new BCD in Ambergris Caye and Mexico on my hollieday. Very nice and comfortable to ware and easy to take off in the water. Only thing that might be better, is the way to place the occtapus, but it was functionaly anyway. Just love my new BCD.

        im 16 this is my first bc, and for the price they dont get much better. i have seen alot of divers with a lot of junk on and to me simplicity is the best way this bc is functional and cheap.

        Worked great for lake dive during certification. Perfect for a small person like me (X-Small) This BCD is not weight intergrated, but I didn't need much weight anyway, just a few pounds in one pocket (perfer weight belt, but didn't have one at time)

          This BCD is probably one of the best in it's class. Under $250 this thing is a freaking bargain buy! The fact that it comes with 2 metal D-rings is amazing considering thefact that metal D-rings is a premium feature on most BCD's.
          I got this BCD for pure recreational diving and it's doing a great job so far.

          All items were recevied in excellent condition.
