DESCRIPTION

The Mares Pegasus back inflation BCD incorporates a high lift, lighter weight construction design with pre-shaped shoulder straps and dual position adjustable chest strap for best fit. The Pegasus BCD features heavy-duty techno-polymer D-rings, a removable double crotch strap and the Mares MRS Plus weight integration system.

Optimal ballast with a mechanical release system (MRS Plus), a simple click ensures easy and secure storage of the weight pockets. A single outward pull on the oversized handle releases your weights. Maximum load 13 lbs (6 kg), Velcro interior for dividing the pocket into multiple sections (M, L, XL) allowing a more secure weight system.

Comfort is important, but durability means years of maintenance free use. The outside of the BCD is made from durable Cordura Nylon and Duroskin with strong polyurethane inside. BCD comes equipped with grommets for Mares Force Knife Collection allows accessorizing.

Buoyancy control is established with the Ergo Inflator, rear quick-dump/over-pressure relief valve and shoulder pull dump. The Ergo is the standard inflation/deflation control unit on Mares BCD's, the Ergo inflator has been designed according to ergonomic guidelines. Intuitive to use and offers maximum grip.

With adjustable chest strap, roll-up zippered pocket, and lots of lift 45 lbs (20.5 kg) in the all sizes makes this one great BCD. Pegasus comes in five sizes and has a 24 month limited warranty.

the info in the ask the pro section on this pegasus bc is inaccurate, there are no zippered pocket and there are 2 attachable trim weight pockets. it has 1 large pocket that unrolls & hangs down below bc & is helt rolled up when not in use by velcro..had to attach trim weight pockets to tank strap w 10 lb.of weights out of a total of 18 lbs.if all weight is put in mrs pockets bc keep me face down on surface..i dove 6 days, bc was new on first day i had trouble with zipper on one of the mrs weight pockets.. on day 6 pocket would not zip shut, had to use duck tape to wrap it shut,zippers on mrs pockets are sub standard i will send that pocket back for warranty replacement..with that said, bc operates great and is very comfortable..

    This is a great back inflate BCD. Fits comfortably, is very adjustable and durable. Crotch strap adds security and the convenience of integrated weight. It compacts well for packing and travel. Back inflation style allows for free movement of the arms, grater adjustability and eliminates the "squeeze" feeling of jacket style BCDs.

    This was a replacement for my ScubaPro KnightHawk (lost weight and it was too big). The Mares Pegasus seems to be of comparable quality at a quarter of the price.

    I wanted to try a back-inflator, and I chose a good brand with a good rep. This BCD was perfect for me. With this one, I no longer have side bladders doing weird exchanges as I tilt left and right. The buoyancy stays fairly neutrally above me when at depth, and allows for full arm movement. It packs more easily than my old non-weight-integrated full vest.

    It will try to put you face-down at the surface, and the trick there is to arch your back and stay on top of it while letting your legs dangle. Since the important portion is the bottom time, mastering this was a welcome trade-off for me.

      So far so good.
      I added trim pockets to the tank strap of my BSD . Putting 2-3 pounds in each pocket is perfect for trim and helps counter the forward lean of a back inflation system if you are not used to it. I dove these the day after I got them and they are perfect for the trim application.

      Always been a fan of Mares products and this BCD is very comfortable and easy to adjust. MRS weight is a nice feature but make sure they are snapped in securely or they will slip out. Would definitely buy again.
