For the spear-fisherman on the go the Travel Magnum breaks down into a smaller model for ease of use in more confined areas. This Travel Magnum Combo uses the same features as of the JBL4D46 Magnum Spear gun with a 4' shaft and a JBL4D33 Custom with a 2' shaft. Either gun may be assembled in 4 to 5 minutes. The speargun design that started it all, the JBL Magnum series of guns is probably responsible for more speared fish than all other spear guns combined. It's no wonder; as this durable and accurate workhorse features a two piece 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) drawn alloy barrel, corrosion resistant hardened stainless steel trigger, shaft and point.

The JBL7427S/721-S shaft is made from 17-4 spring stainless for durability and long life shaft when assembled is 48" (122 cm) in length with a 5/16" (8mm) front diameter and a 3/8" (9.5 mm) rear diameter. A separate shaft for the Custom Gun JBL724S is 24" (61 cm) with a 5/16" (8 mm) diameter. Handles are constructed of two-piece cast aluminum providing strength and ease of maintenance. Guns Magnum overall length is 63" (160 cm) with the Custom at 31" (79 cm).

The Magnum features three 9/16" (14 mm) Hi-Mod JBL224 and two JBL214 bands with 302 stainless wire wishbones. Tried and trusted, this is one hunting buddy you'll be glad to share a secret spot with. These guns are most suitable for spear fishing among reefs and rocks where heavy penetration is needed. The Magnum is used for both reef and rock fishing and for long range and heavy penetration. The combination of shaft length and the 9" (23 cm) long butt extension make the gun easier to load.

The JBL823 tip is designed for large powerful fish. JBL's breakaway point has 4"(10.2 cm) wings and 3" (7.6 cm) slip-tip configuration. Tip is hardened 17-4 stainless and features a multi-braid stainless cable in 1/16" (2 mm) diameter. These tips hang on no matter how hard the fight while minimizing damage to your spear shaft. Their low-profile, double barbed design allows for pinpoint accuracy and dependable deployment. Don't trust a once in a lifetime fish to anything else. The JBL825 single barb tip is constructed of rugged stainless steel, JBL's fixed spear points are a perfect blend of durability and performance. Each point is designed for low maintenance, dependability and most important results.

Gun is equipped with the JBL515 Shock Line. Sometimes we miss or we shoot a large fish and the recoil can pull the gun out of your grip, which ever the shock line will keep you in control. Guns range is 25' (7.6 meters) when fully assembled as the Magnum and 12' (3.66 meters) in the Custom configuration. Gun disassembles into compact components that stow quickly in the padded semi-hard rugged black nylon travel case. Gun is totally made in the USA.

Comments about JBL Travel Magnum Combo Double Sling Spear Gun with Case (4D46TC):

The guns has held up well over the past 4 years. I did not have confidence in the gun initially as the joint in the middle seemed like a weak point...not so. I have taken fish from a few pounds to over 40lbs and have no complaints thus far. I prefer to set the gun up prior to dive trips as choppy seas make changing the length of the gun a bit of a pain.
All in all, a good gun I'd be happy to recommend.
