DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Spear Gun, Shaft JBL724S, One Slings JBL214, Spear Point JBL825, Shock Line JBL515

If you're looking for a spear gun that's big on performance while still leaving a little green in your wallet, the Explorer is perfect. Made with a corrosion resistant hardened 17-4 stainless steel trigger and shaft, JBL724S shaft is 24" (61 cm) and is 5/16" (8 mm) in diameter, cast aluminum, two piece handle, and combined with a 1" (2.5 cm) aerospace alloy barrel for quick target acquisition and fatal results. Guns overall length is 31" (79 cm) and has a range of 12' (3.66 meters). Same parallel power source and low profile design make the Explorer perfect for cagy fish when the shot window is a split second.

To increase power and additional 9/16" (16 mm) O.D. JBL214 sling can be added. The sling is a unique latex formulation and dip manufacturing process that delivers radical modulus strength. The power curve increases as bands are stretched for optimum performance. Special anti-oxidants help protect against harmful U.V. rays, prolonging sling life. The slings wishbone is 302 stainless wires that provide superior strength and durability.

Included with the Explorer 20 is the JBL825 single barb tip. Constructed of rugged stainless steel, JBL's fixed spear points are a perfect blend of durability and performance. Each point is designed for low maintenance, dependability and most important results. Gun is equipped with the JBL515 Shock Line. Sometimes we miss or we shoot a large fish and the recoil can pull the gunout of your grip, which ever the shock line will keep you in control. At the endof the day it's not the flash, but the fish count that really matters, and nothing stacks them up like the Explorer.

Comments about JBL Explorer 20 Single Sling Spear Gun (4D20):

Bought this for a friend who was anxious to expand the food he caught from the sea with selective hunting. It is a fairly small, lightweight gun. Inexpensive, and perfect for a beginner. It has a short range, and does not have the power to kill large game, but for fish in the 20 lbs and under range, it is a good gun. I would worry a bit about the long term durability, but I figure it is a gun that most people upgrade from in time.

Comments about JBL Explorer 20 Single Sling Spear Gun (4D20):

I am a begining spearfisher and thought I would start off with a cheap gun. bad choice. after 1 dive I got a new gun. the range on this gun is about 3 feet and it has no power. unless you want to be disapointed, go with a different gun!!!

Comments about JBL Explorer 20 Single Sling Spear Gun (4D20):

I bought this speargun as my first and I'm a little disappointed. The range is definitely not 12' (as published). It doesn't even shoot 12' with the second band I added. Disappointing. With that said, spearfishing is fun and this gun let's me practice my newfound hobby. Frankly, I'm using it until my new 7' JBL travel polespear shows up. I'm going to let friends use this gun from now on.

Comments about JBL Explorer 20 Single Sling Spear Gun (4D20):

The factory tip that comes with this gun only has one folding barb and no retainer for the wing. If you are serious about fishing go ahead and buy a good tip for this gun. Otherwise it is accurate and good for the price and excellent for small fish such as bass, bream and crappie.

Comments about JBL Explorer 20 Single Sling Spear Gun (4D20):

This is a nice compact speargun that works reliably and has provided me with some nice Tautog in New England. For any larger fish or shots at a range exceeding about 5-6 ft it just doesn't have the punch, however. It probably makes sense to get something bigger unless you're only going for rather small prey.
