Check the dimensions on this light. I was expecting something smaller since it runs on 3 AAA batteries.

On the other hand the thing is solid and well engineered. As others have mentioned the beam is tighter than most and may not be suitable as a primary light. The on-off button uses a magnetic interface so there is no o-ring there to fail. The electronics seem to incorporate constant current DC-DC conversion. You get a high, low and off setting, nice. The light works well on NiMH rechargeables.

The battery compartment provides double o-rings for extra leak proofing.

I have two criticisms. First, the light could be smaller considering it runs on AAA batteries. Second, using an odd number of batteries is inconvenient. Batteries come in 4-packs and chargers work on even numbers of batteries. Why not design the light to use 2 or 4 batteries, not 3.

buy the L-600 or the newer IFL 660

look on the packaging for something that says " Concentrated Power Beam"

I purchased the compact torch after losing my L-600, the specs were the same (at the time) 130 lumens, however the power beam on the L-600 is tightly focused and can be used on a shallow reef dive, where as this compact torch is only good at depth 40+ feet. I would gladly trade my compact torch for any other light on the market, it is that useless!

Bought my first one from another place, and loved it. Leisure Pro's price was $15.00 cheaper and no shipping!! These are nice bright lights, well-focused. We use them as primary lights in the Caribbean, and back-ups to our can lights here in the Midwest muddy waters...

Comments about Tovatec by Intova Compact 130 Lumens Torch:

Great back-up light that has a very good beam. My first two flashlights had issues with the back switch and had to be returned to the manufacturer. Strange because the housing and construction appear to be very solid.

The manufacturer out of Hawaii was great to deal with it.

Overall a great light, but I still have my concerns with the reliability on the flashlight.

Bought 2 of these for our recent trip to Cozumel. Worked great in the day and at night. Really like the dual power settings. Noticed that our DM had the same light as did several others on the boat. Bright enough to be a primary at night.

Comments about Tovatec by Intova Compact 130 Lumens Torch:

I have 2 of these lights and also bought one for my wife. They are durable and the batteries last a long time. Also use cheap, readily available batteries. I use one on the tip of my speargun and one in my pocket at all times. The one on the speargun is thrust into holes and under ledges and totally abused and keeps on working.
