Comments about Henderson Insta Dry 5mm Boots:

Like with Wayne's experience (see his review), both of the boots I purchased experienced separation of the material just below the bottom of the zipper. This occurred after less than 10 dives of use. The boots were used for boat dives only, and were not subject to any extremes in conditions(neither heat/cold or sunlight exposure). I also purchased a Henderson insta-dry wetsuit which experienced a separation of the knee pads from the suit and decomposition of those pads (literally crumbled) immediately after the first dive. All in all I find the Henderson insta-dry product line to be low in quality and I would not recommend that product line to anyone.

It dries as quickly as Henderson says it will. This makes packing up after diving nice no more waiting for booties to dry out.

These boots dry very quickly, as advertised. They also fit well, and are quite warm. The sole is thin enough to get inside almost any foot pocket, unlike many "upgraded" boots. And the support is much better than the average dive boot.The only caveat is that the glued seams do seem to come apart sometimes. [...] they could be a bit more bullet-proof.

Good fit, comfortable and Insta-dry works but the craftsmanship left a lot to be desired; after 6 dives I had seperation between the sole and the upper boot structure occuring in a number of places. On one boot the outer "spine" that runs up from the heel to the ankle was seperating from the core material. I was able to re-glue these myself. I have now used these boots on ~40-50 dives - after a recent intensive period of diving (24 dives over 5 days) both boots are falling apart. The bottom zipper structure where it connects with boot has pulled apart - makes for a nice drain hole thus speeding up the drying process. Numerous other material seperation is occuring and the spline from the heel to the ankle I mentioned earlier has now become a big flap of useless rubber. For the price, these boots are no where near the value they should be as they totally lack the necessary durability. BTW - I have only used these boots on dive boats.

Henderson Insta Dry Boots don't seem to soak up water so they are only wet on the outside surfaces of the neoprene after a dive. Now the water on the outside might stay for a while and water trapped inside will stay until you spill it our or dry it with a towel. They will be instantly dry if you dry them with a towel, but, this is not what makes them great. On a 7 night trip to Cozumel we did 13 dives and I did nothing but shake out those boots. Normally on the third night I'm trying to get the smell of a dead cow out of boots that I've mistreated like that.
The soul is hard enough to get over the rocks at the lake too.
If you want some no worries boots these seem to be them.
