DESCRIPTION

The Genesis Cobra LD is a jacket style BCD is made of rugged and durable 1000 denier ballistic nylon, with an 840 denier urethane coated nylon air cell. Rigid integrated backpack with thermal-molded foam comfort pad makes for a comfortable and extremely stable BCD. Jacket is equipped with two non-releasing 5lbs (2.27kg) rear weight pockets, has 6 welded stainless steel D-Rings for multiple accessory attachment, with four on the shoulders and two at the waist.

BCD has an ergonomically designed independent suspension strap system with front closure which allows air cell movement away from your body preventing squeeze when BCD is fully inflated. The cummerbund has a length adjustment and is depth compensating to prevent jacket ride-up at depth. Jacket also comes equipped with an adjustable and removable sternum strap all to give a comfortable custom fit. Stability of your cylinder is achieved with a sewn-in ridged pack frame and adjustable tank locator strap. Need to store something, not a problem with the two large expandable Velcro closure pockets.

The Genesis power inflator with rapped pull dump, LP Inflator Hose and a rear pull dump with ball pull cord makes trimming your buoyancy quick and easy in any position underwater or on the surface. The BCD comes with two Akona Quick Clip system attachments and grommets in the pockets for retractors cables. The BCD is designed to except the Genesis BCD Pro Accessory Kit (see SKU: GNSRK) to complete your accessory needs and give you a streamline environmentally friendly profile.

    I am a big guy who does recreational advanced open water and shore dives. The vest is easy on and off and very forgiving. Once on it feels like an extension of my body rather a piece of equipment needed for diving. The trim pockets are perfect for that extra weight and because it does not have the integrated weight section it more open.

    I have been diving for over 5 years and I wish someone would have told me about this BC before now.

    No carrying handle

    I didn't get to use this BCD, once I received it I realized it did not have a carrying handle. Other than the carrying handle, it has lots of features and fit well.

      tank strap comes undone easily and does not clamp on tank in a very sturdy manner, backpiece a little too thin, and lpi deflator often stuck open.
      minor problems easily solvable in water, have done about 100 dives with it, so far so good.
      Overall its a good sturdy bcd, trim weight pockets easily fit a 5lb weight each

        I have about twenty dives with this BC so far. It isn't too bulky, has two very large pockets and just the right amount of D rings. It fits well and is very comfortable. I am very glad I purchased it. Excellent construction and it should last for years to come. Well worth the money

          I am a public safety diver and this is a great BC, especially if you are diving with a pony bottle setup. The trim weight pockets on the back are perfect to counterbalance a pony bottle. Public safety divers usually don't use weight integrated BCs, so it not being weight integrated is fine for me. The BC is also very durable, have used it for ice diving as well and didn't have any problems.
