DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:BCD, LP Quick Disconnect Hose, Weight Pockets, Carry Bag w/Shoulder Strap and Inflator

This jacket has been specifically designed for those who travel by plane as it is the result of painstaking research on the most suitable materials for reducing weight to a minimum. Nothing has been left to chance in the search to achieve a record lightweight BCD, beginning with the material 210 denier nylon which is light yet very strong. All the D-rings are made from a light alloy (Size Medium weighs only 5.5 lbs.). The soft back pack is padded for comfort and incorporates a light rubber area to grip the cylinder with dual cylinder bands for stability.

The BCD is equipped with two large zippered accessory pockets for storage of your back-up light or small digital camera. Pockets supply more room then on other BCD's which can barely hold your dive gloves. The integrated Lock Aid quick-release weight system hold up to 20 lbs (9 kg), with 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in each pocket, and two additional rear non-releasable trim weight pockets that help increase stability in the water.

The waistband/cummerbund harness assembly is an independent suspension system that allows the cylinder and the diver to keep proper stability and avoid cylinder shifting on the back, while allowing the BCD's air cell to fully inflate away from the diver not causing restriction or crushing effect as with non-ergonomic designs. Adjustable sternum straps along with both torso adjustment straps are equipped with quick-release buckles.

BCD has three over-pressure relief/dump valves with two located on the left and right shoulders and a third lower valve on the rear right of the air cell. All three can be manually dumped two with pull cords and the other with the power inflator mechanism. The Travelight can be folded up in just a few seconds and fastened with a special retractable strap so that it can be stowed easily in its carry bag, which comes with a shoulder strap. The Travelight's very light structure and its anatomical shape make it a very tight-fitting, hydrodynamic and streamlined when underwater.

I initially bought a large; however, all adjustments were near the end of range when tightened. This was without a wetsuit. I am 5'11, 189 with 42" chest. I exchanged for medium which was much better fit. I dove with the BC for first time last week. I found it difficult to don when attached to a tank sitting on a boat. The soft backpack folds over considerably which makes it difficult to get arms through the shoulder straps even when doing it one at a time. Although fully extended, the shoulder straps seem short. Maybe, I should have kept the large. I had the most success by disconnecting one shoulder strap and holding it over that soulder while passing arm through the opposite still connected strap, then reconnecting the first strap.

        Comments about Cressi Travelight BCD:

It works great for recreational diving and any dive trip. I am a medium size for most of my gear and ordered a small Travelight following the comments but now I regret it. I had to give it to my wife and now I ll order a medium.

            Comments about Cressi Travelight BCD:

Have logged about 15 dives with this BCD and have no complaints. The only thing some dive centers are not familiar with it and tend to set the bottle to high. Double check before you go in the water so you dont find yourself adjusting bottle under water or spending the entire dive with the cylinder valve hitting the back of your head.

            Comments about Cressi Travelight BCD:

I got this recently as an alternative to my Dive Rite transpak harness and really impressed. My goal is to slim down to the smallest, lightest and safest rig possible mainly for warm water diving and this is the first step.

It's way more comfortable than my trans, has the pockets, integrated weights, dual tank straps and very comfortable.

I've read many of the reviews and personally never found it to be prone to roll on the surface. I think it's a matter of getting use to a back inflate vs. a standard vest style. Yes the integrated weights jam up the pockets a little but not much IMHO and you can use the back pockets if you prefer (as I do) to distribute your lead around.

I tried a few of the other "travel" BCs and this gave me the best fit, most comfortable dive and included the basics I wanted. Yes it's a little more expensive than others but not enough to offset the value.

I agree with one review and found it a little tricky to slide into when strapped to a tank due to its relaxed construction but after a few tries, you'll figure out what works best and slide right in.

The only thing I added were some weigh sleeves to better secure the lead when placed in the back pockets.
