Whats in the box:Pair of Cressi Pro Star Full Foot Fins

The Rondine Pro Star is a Sleek Design that, like the Frog, Space Frog and Pro Light positions the Blade on Top of the Foot Pocket for Optimum Performance. The Foot Pocket is made of a Very Soft Elastomer Material that Comfortably Wraps around your Foot, Eliminating any Foot Cramping that occurs in many fins. The Blade is made of High Performance Polypropylene Material.

Designed to be used for Scuba as well as Snorkeling, the Pro Star is the perfect choice for the Recreational Diver. This is a Futuristic Design, deriving from the Cressi Deep Sea Skin-Diving Models, which introduces the use of more Reactive Materials. The Blade is made of Exceptionally Light and Reactive. The Blade Material is combined with a Comfortable Thermo-Rubber (elastomer) for the Foot Pocket, Side Rails and for various Inserts. The Blade Originates from the Upper-Part of the Foot Pocket, with a 20% Increase in Useful Surface Area compared to a traditional fin of the same length. The Side Rails extend along the Blade, continuing in a Protective Seal around the whole Blade Edge. Two Stabilizing Flaps on the End-of-the-Blade and on the Sole of the Foot, guarantee Excellent Stability of the Fin during Kicking.

The Excellent, Highly Anatomic, Computer-Designed Foot Pocket, provides Optimum Transmission of Leg-Fin Thrust. The resulting combination of materials is a formidable product that makes Kicking Easier and Powerful at the same time. Pro Star model is one of the most Powerful Full-Foot Fins in the Cressi range and is an excellent choice for Snorkeling, Skin-Diving and Scuba Divers. Fin is available in US sizes 4-5, 5.5-6.5, 7-8, 8.5-9.5 or 10-11 (EUR 37-38, 39-40, 41-42, 43-44 or 45-46). Fin measure from (L x W) 23.64" to 27" x 7.9" to 8.67" (60 to 68.5 cm x 20 x 22 cm) and weigh from 40.57 to 55.73 oz (1,150 to 1,580 g). The Pro Star Fins are Black in color and are covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

I bought these fins to replace my split fins. I play underwater hockey, and one of my teammates uses these fins. My coach also recommended them as an "upgrade." I've found that I have better acceleration and a higher "top speed" with these fins. I'm also able to maneuver fairly well.

The only problem is that they are slightly narrow and I have slightly wide feet, so my feet got a bit banged-up the first few times I used 'em. I wear socks with them now to help prevent my feet from being too destroyed after practice (which is 90+/- mins).

I dive cold water and use Scubapro fins. I use twin jets for surge and current, and Scubapro Kinetix (not split) for long surface kicks through the kelp beds to avoid getting caught up in it.
I bought the Cressi Pro Star fins for overseas scuba travel to minimize weight. In pristine conditions like Grand Cayman I had no issue.
In Papua New Guinea we had strong currents and I felt I was standing still. I am a powerful swimmer, and an advanced cold water diver, but I felt I was in quicksand with these fins, even though I was kicking forcefully to power through the current.
Also, one fin nearly folded in half upon hitting the water when I did my giant step off the boat. It then flung right off my foot and I had to make a mad dash as to not lose the fin! These fins are too flimsy for serious diving.

Comments about Cressi Pro Star Full Foot Fins:

i bought these for work because of the impression that my Frog Fins made on me (100s of dives, rugged as heck). after just a few short months and less than 100 dives the Pro Stars are beginning to separate at the seams that join the different types of plastics. these are probably suitable to somebody who rarely dives, but i wouldn't feel right recommending them to an avid diver or SCUBA professional. i am still looking for a powerful / durable "daily driver" of the fullfoot variety and right now i am leaning toward the Mares Avanti Quattro. i hope Leisure pro will accept a warranty return and credit me toward the purchase of something more suitable. i will keep you all posted...

Comments about Cressi Pro Star Full Foot Fins:

I have been hunting for a stiffer pair of fins for lap swimming - I want the benifit of resistance training for toning in preperation for scuba diving - these are the best ones I have tried to date - I am a happy camper! (Order a size smaller than what your shoe size is - I like a snug fit and had to do this)
