DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Pair of Cressi Gara 2000 HF Fins, Black

The Gara 2000 HF is the first fin in the world made by combining three different materials, a process that Cressi perfected and patented. This process guarantees unsurpassed performance. The blade is made from a special reactive polypropylene, which is extremely light, and has a blade snap that progressively charges during the fining upward stride to react like a spring at the exact moment the stride is inverted.

This development in fin construction gives the diver increased thrust required to keep up with their prey. A soft elastomer foot pocket anatomically wraps around the foot, surrounding it with a comfortable bite that guarantees perfect transmission of the leg-fin thrust. A solid copolymer hardens some critical zones of the foot pocket and extend along the sides of the foot pocket in two lateral stringers that go halfway down the blade, assisted by special raised bands on the bottom of the blade, these stringers function, is to regulate and harmonize the bending of the blade, at the same time protecting it from shocks and abrasions.

The fins are extremely lightweight compared to equivalent models of rubber full foot fins. This light- weightiness reduces the inertial masses to the minimum allowing less resistance to acceleration when needed. This gives the full advantage of the effort-efficiency ratio. This fin is designed for deep skin-diving, although Scuba professionals and instructors appreciate its efficiency also. Fins are available in US Sizes 7-8, 8-9, 10-11, or 12-13 (EUR 40-41, 42-43, 44-45 or 46-47) is Black in color and is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

These are on the stiffer side for a long fin. Yes they are tiring to me for long surface swims but are great once you're under water getting down or returning to the surface freediving.

The big news is how great these are for scuba. Comfortable and efficient for long dives. MOST MANEUVERABLE long fin I have ever used. I have never been able to back up with long fins but I can with these! Helicopter turns are easy. They frog kick well too. They kill in a current and save a lot of gas.

They are good for travel because they are so light. Just pack them in a long duffel or fin bag if your gear bag's too short.

    too much fin for me

fins have too much torque for me, caused cramps. They were extremly powerful underwater, but could not swim on the surface without weights

Comments about Cressi Gara 2000 HF Fins, Black:

I have not dived in these yet, but will comment about the sizing. I dive in cold norcal waters and wanted a 5mm sock. I normally wear a 11.5 shoe so ordered the 12-13 size fin and it fits perfect when wearing the 5mm sock.

Comments about Cressi Gara 2000 HF Fins, Black:

My cressi 3000ld were more forgiving but sadly they fell off my kayak never to be seen again so I bought these puppies. Diving off of Jersey has it's own unique demands. I freedive mostly off the beach. sometimes the surf gets rough, lot of sandy bottom, but spearfish around jetty rocks which we have alot of. Love these fins got a little cramped for a while but you can slow go it with these, or hop it up if you need to get off a rockpile in a strong wave.

Comments about Cressi Gara 2000 HF Fins, Black:

These are excellent fins for free-diving, but having gotten used to them I continued using them for SCUBA diving as well. They are extremely useful in strong currents, and I appreciate the extra power and speed when you really need it - be it current, handling divers on their first dive, or faster reaction time when you need to get to another diver in a hurry.

It's true that they are not ideal when in caves and wrecks, but I've used them in both many times and with proper buoyancy skills and a little experience, the extra 10cm or so is really not such a big deal or problem when compared with most other fins.

            I never travel without them!
