DESCRIPTION
Blue Reef 6.5MM Neoprene Hood with 3mm face seal, neck and bib, the skin face seal and bib add warmth and are easily trimmed to custom fit the diver. All seams are glued and blind stitched for strength and durability. If you choose to wear with a dry suit the bib is designed as a cut-away bib.

We're typically in water temperatures between 47 and 55 degrees. I've yet to have any discomfort from cold! Love the long bib; it tucks inside my suit and keeps me toasty warm. The one down side is there's no ventilation on top and too much air gets trapped. It's a minor annoyance for the joy of not getting cold.

It has very poor ventilation for releasing any air pockets that get trapped within the hood. Air pockets form inside the hood throughout the dive making it difficult to hold proper buoyency under water. I found myself constantly pushing down on the top of my head to force the massive air pocket out that had continuously formed. I plan to solve this by cutting a small hole in the top, but i'm kind of disappointed that I have to.

      Great hood if modified slightly. I only gave it 4 stars due to the fact that it has no purge or air release at the top of the hood.

      I purchased this hood knowing in advance from reviews here that it didn't have an air purge feature. Before my first dive with it, I used a very small diameter finishing nail, held over a candle flame, to melt several 'small' holes through the neoprene at the top back of the hood. This allowed air to release upon ascent. I kept the holes VERY small, so I did not have any problem with water leaking into the hood.

      Excellent buy for the price with this very easy minor modification. Just keep in mind that you cannot return it if modified, so be sure you have the right size\fit first.

        Great hood, but it needs a vent valve in the top to allow air bubbles to escape. Also I had to go with a size larger than the Sizing chart said I would need.
