      This item was a replacement for another manufacturer's similar item. Theirs fell of my BCD tank strap once too often (that means just once!). I should have bought this in the first place.

      You guys kill me with your cost complaints. If [$]is gonna be a problem you need to quit diving. You have a $150 pony tank strapped to a $200 tank strapped to a $500 bcd with a $1000 dollar regulator / computer attached. You have at least another $500 worth of necessary gear in a suit, mask, fins, and snorkel. These pony tank mounts are machined out of aluminum which the machine work costs more than the aluminum.Use silicone grease on the pins and it will not hurt if you get it on your bc or wetsuit.You could always make a tank strap out of some pvc pipe, nylon strap, duct tape, and velcro, but hey its your life down there not mine.

          This thing saves a lot of time, I was using the Zeagle dual stap before and the tank never really felt secure. Now, it's on there pretty solid and easier to take off when changing tanks.

          The best solution for mounting a pony. You don't need any additional hardware, just this. Easy to add and remove pony simply by pulling a single pin. Would be nice if it was cheaper though!
