The simplest and most reliable attention getter for Scuba Diving is the Tank Banger. Just stretch it over the base of your Scuba Cylinder and your ready to go. If you're right handed place to the right if you're left handed place it to the left. You need to get someone's attention underwater just pull the ball away from you cylinder and let go BANG! Get the attention of your buddy, your students, or other divers from long or short distances. Tank Banger is made of corrosion free plastic and surgical rubber tubing.

    I mean...it's a tank banger! I highly recommend everyone have one of these...but ask your DM before you go under if he or she minds. I've found some that would prefer you only use them in an emergency because it can create some confusion about who is trying to get who's attention.

    I really preferred the previous version of these (hollow rubber tubing with a cylindrical plastic 'banger'). The new version has a thick rubber band with a circular plastic banger. They are much more difficult to put on your tank and have a lot of resistance to pull away from the tank to use it. Keep the old model if you still have them (or put them on [...]for me!).

          We have been using these with our group for ten years. They provide enough noise to alert others in our group that we want their attention. We have needed to replace ours every 3 years. Very simple way to communicate within our group of usually four divers.

              Dove with this for the first time and I was very disappointed. First off, the band is so tight that it is hard to pull the ball. The second and worst thing is that it hardly makes any noise. When you are out of the water, it seems pretty loud, but once you go under it is worthless. If your partner is more that a few feet away, you shouldn't even bother using it. I an yell louder underwater than this.
