Don't judge a book by its cover

This reel is great to start off small wreck dive. I love the skip function, it helps me pace myself when going in small wrecks.

For the Money you can't beat it, but it is real bulky, and kind of a pain to deal with when attached on your BC, or tucked in a pocket( Lucky my BC has 2 rather large pockets) But if you want to use it for marking dive navagations for students, and follow lines for advanced dives it is Ideal for the money. If you are a new/or plan to be cave diver, This IS NOT the reel for you!But then again it dosen't cost $100-$250 for smaller compact (Stainless Steel) type models.I have used it to deploy safety saugage on practice runs, and it is very bulky, but serves it's purpose.I had bought 2 of them just for the fact they are cheap, and are a great tool for new students to learn with.

Comments about Aqua Multi Purpose 150' Dive Reel:

Inexpensive reel, works, ok for the price. Lock/free/skip mechanism is flimsy. String was cut at about 100ft, found while towing dive flag. Was clearly cut when I got it because the string was melted at cut ends to stop fraying? Weird. Almost lost dive flag because of it.

Comments about Aqua Multi Purpose 150' Dive Reel:

I am PADI Master Diver and Dive Master, 190 dives. Brake button not convenient and broke during Dive Master Training in Cozumel. Line tangled around spool in high current. Used several spools before and this one let me down.

Comments about Aqua Multi Purpose 150' Dive Reel:

The overall functionality of this reel is prety good, and it can be used to tow a flag or do some seach paterns. But, unfortunatly the down fall of this reel is the locking mechinism that lets you set lock or free spoo is a plastic lever that after a sometime starts to get hard to use and makes operating somewhat difficult. This is probrably not the best thing if your diving caves. but all in all its a good item.
