DESCRIPTION
DiveAlert is a specially designed, small, light weight air horn that uses quick-connect/disconnect hose couplings to become an integrated part of your power inflator, breathable/inflator and buoyancy compensator. Installation is easy and only takes a moment.

Why have DiveAlert? What would you do in a diving emergency if you needed to get the attention of the pick-up boat or someone else on the water's surface? Before DiveAlert SCUBA divers had relied on whistles or a SMB (surface marker buoy) as their only signaling devices in such an emergency. But if the diver is disabled and can't blow into a whistle (or deploy the SMB) the whistle makes no sound at all. Or if the boat operator is not looking in the direction of a diver with a SMB deployed (if the diver was able to even deploy the SMB) the diver goes un-noticed.

Equally frustrating (and dangerous), if a diver needs to attract the attention of someone who is too far away to hear the whistle, the whistle is of no help. In contrast, Dive Alert enables divers, at the mere touch of a button, to generate a blast of sound that can be heard up to a mile away!

There are three different models available; one for approximately 85% of standard power inflator mechanisms model DA1. There are several breathable/inflator mechanisms that require a larger coupling for a higher flow of air so there are two models to accommodate them. The model DA2X and the modelDA3X (see list below).

Installation is easy and takes only a moment. Dive Alert does not require any modification of your other equipment, and it does not interfere in any way with its normal operation. When you need to get someone's attention on the water's surface, you simply press a button and Dive Alert uses a small amount of air from your scuba tank to make a piercingly 132db loud sound; even as little as 100 psi (6.9 bars) will give you a full-throated screech. Dive Alert can be heard from 1 mile (1.6 km) away.

Comments about Dive Alert Signaling Device:

Yeah its stupid loud, words alone cannot describe.
I have for years depended on a single, but reliable storm whistle attached to my inflation hose. Have seen this device many times on other divers rigs but have never heard it used. Decided that it would be prudent to get something alittle louder in case the need should arise for it. Go to your dive shop for a demo, please. (But buy from leisure pro cause they have the better price) You will not believe how loud this thing is. It is now my primary signaling device, period. Oh and the storm whistle, still a trusted now semi-retired back up. DIVE SMART, DIVE SAFE.....

Comments about Dive Alert Signaling Device:

This thingy is so loud you'll surely get the attention you want.

The downside is that it's bulky. I only use it when diving at night or under heavy fog, otherwise a simple blow whistle is enough.

Comments about Dive Alert Signaling Device:

This thing almost saved my and my buddie's life last weekend. Doing a night dive in heavy currents we came up only 50 yards from our boat and although we swam for our lives, I was unable to reach the boat in about 20 minutes of sprint-swimming, which just about killed me. My buddy, who had bigger fins, was able to reach the boat eventually and we were able to self-rescue.

However durring the last minutes of our sprint-swim, I was able to successfully get the attention of a passing boat that was a good 400-500 yards away (way out of rech of a whistle). Even over his engine noise, he was able to hear the high-pitch sound and cut his engine. I was then able to tap out an S.O.S. and signal him with my dive light. Had my buddy not reached the boat (which he did by a miracle), I would say that this thing saved our lives. Given how small and non-abtrucive it is, I now consider it a MUST-HAVE on all dives. My only CON on this product is that the red button is very close and very simular to my red BC inflator button. I have not done it yet, but I know that I will accidently trigger it one day and the noise (if your head is not under water) is loud enough to almost make your ears bleed!

Comments about Dive Alert Signaling Device:

The dive alert was really good. It is loud enough to signal the boat to pick you up or incase of emergency or even for turning the attention of your buddy underwater.

Comments about Dive Alert Signaling Device:

Added security when open water diving. Louder than a typical whistle so your chances of being heard on the surface are much greater.
