I'm just starting SCUBA, but I already know how to pack a lot of things in one duffel. This is a big cylindrical backpack w/ a zippered dry pack acting as the backing and a draw string as the top. There is also a smaller dry pack on the rear of the backpack (assuming your wearing it as a backpack).
The mesh looks and feels tough, the zippers look durable, and the straps feel good.

It's big, but not too big. I can fit all my skin gear, flash light, knife, chem light, and not to mention a 7mm full farmer john AND 3mm short suit (rolled up of course). Keep in mind that I'm a small guy.

This means I can lug ALL my gear in one bag from home to college and even to the docks if I really wanted to. Even with all this stuff there's still room for a few smaller things, its not stuffed to capacity.

The only down side is if you have a lot of weight in it (ie. 20lbs of lead plus gear) the draw string won't hold up to the tightest notch, unless u loosen your shoulder straps, or tie a knot. (it's physics at work really)

It won't be a problem for anyone though, the gap created, if this happens, isn't even big enough for a small mask to fit through.

    Bottom line:
If your bigger than 5'6 110lbs and have a 7mm full suit, get the bigger size.

Great bag in theory - Holds all the gear I need to port to a dive (aside from tank and weights of course).

The negative: The straps are ripping off the upper section of bag after only 10 days of use. Mind you i do fill this bag to capacity when I use it - but it should be able to handle that!

I would recommend reinforcing the straps prior to using it, or be sure to carry a light load.

Comments about Akona Adventure Series Big Mesh Backpack (AKB134):

I picked this up mostly because it was inexpensive and I could not bring myself to overpay for similar dive bags that had the same features. The main feature that sold me was the dry pouch where you could keep a towel and a fresh change of clothes. However, be advised the front pouch is not water resistant but the rest of the bag packs neatly into it for travel or storage. A neat little feature I didn't know about when I first purchased it. I do wish this bag had a smaller dry pocket for a cellphone or wallet but other than that it is a solid bag. I am able to pack everything I need to dive with into the main compartment including 14 pounds of weights with plenty of room to spare.

Comments about Akona Adventure Series Big Mesh Backpack (AKB134):

It's a great bag that is large enough to hold an entire set of scuba gear. I only wish the top had two closure strings. With only one string, it opens if there is alot of weight in the bag. It is great for my needs!
