use this on 10 dives up to 100ft, tropical and Canadian waters. I twist it on before descending, and keep it on my wrist with my lanyard. in daylight hours it does not provide much noticeable light, but works great for looking into holes and caves. It has a very focused beam much like a light saber from Star Wars, hence the product name.i have never experienced a flood, leak, or even mild condensation with this light.

Comments about Pelican Super SabreLite #2000:
I read several reviews that stated that this product had a problem with flooding. I just want to say that I have had a Super Sabre for ten years and have had it with me on many dives in the cold waters of the pacific northwest, dives ranging from 30 to 120 fsw. I lost it once at 119 feet and found it on a subsequent dive. It is still working great and have had no flooding issues. Of course we all know it screws down to turn off and not to turn it past the point of comming on. It will surely flood then. Great light.

Floods.

Bought six to use with a group of divers on vacation. Every single one flooded, two of them on the first dive without even being used. I have been using screw-down lights for 20 years and know what I am doing. These lights may be great on a boat, but I would never take one on a dive again.
Needs a Switch Not for diving

The first time I used this light it flooded right away. On the surface befroe going under I showed it to a more experienced tech diver and he afffirmed that the twist on system was designed to prevent flooding. It didnt. The only way to prevent that is to turn it on before the dive and keep it on until back on the surface. That doesnt fill my idea of a back up light. I will be sendindg it back to Pelican and request a model with a switch .
An "OK" light.

The tray for the batteries is a weak point. The bottom is plastic and has a tendency to break if struck or dropped. Also, must be careful when loading new batteries or it will crack. On the other hand, the lifetime warranty service is great and they shipped replacement parts same day.
