Shopper What size belt for a 47 inch chest. ?
CARL W This vest stretches and it has adjustable straps. I have a 42 inch chest now but I had a 48 when i bought it. I would get the XL. I am still using this vest every weekend and it is still holding up.
ALI A I have a 43" chest and wight 230 lb use a Medium/large size that is the best fit for me anything smaller would be tight. Have used it 30 time since I got it. The adjustable strap has not been used and can be adjusted from both sides. so it would extended few more inch's on both ends. after using this type of belt nether me or my friends would go back to using a regulate belt. easy to put on and take off after a free dive, easy on the lower back as your whole upper body is holding the weight and does not slip on an angel only when doing a virtual drop but far better then a belt.
I also have had a similar weight problem that another customer mentioned, but used 5 lbs solid lead weights in each of the pockets no problem but its at its max so not recommended to do that all the time and not necessary, if more weights are needed you can always add a belt with light weights.
overall a great buy for free diving, spearfishing.
JOHN B I have a 42" chest, weigh 220lb, 6'2", and use a medium size vest. I have the middle strap in the front adjusted to the max. For a 47" chest, you would need at least a large.
A few complaints I have with the belt. I am a freediver, and it does tend to slip when diving down, and surfacing. The pockets are pretty small. 2lb's of weight is about all you can stuff in one, so depending on the thickness of your suit, and how much weight you typically dive with, you might still need to wear additional weight. I use mine strictly for warm water diving, so it is not an issue. OVerall, though, it is a very comfortable way to carry weight, the vest has held up over the years, and I would buy the product again.
Happy dives!
