Dan D My DIN valve says 3180 psi on it, would this work?
Thanks.
DENIS F HI,
The insert fit into the tank valve fine but check the yoke fits over the tank valve. The DIn tank valcve seem sto be a little wider than the normal yoke valve. If the din valve is to wide, buy the adapter which screws in to the DIN valve which the dive shops use to fill the DIN tanks ( DIN to Yoke Tank Filler Adapter SKU: AQUDTA )
Denis
SERGEI G when it comes to ratings, the official word is not to exceed marked values. If you have 3000 PSI tank that shouldn't be a problem.
The adapter allows your yoke stage 1 reg to be attached to the valve.
Mechanically this adapter will fit in any modern (i.e. "convertable") valve. Usually those valves come with such adapter already screwed in, you would remove them when diving with a DIN stage 1.
Your valve should have inner metal area (looks like a ring) to accommodate DIN stage 1 or the inner o-ring of the adapter. Outer o-ring of the adapter faces the yoke. Both o-rings are stock.
Your valve should also have a seat on the back to accommodate yoke's screw.
Old (non-convertable) DIN valves had the ring very deep (allowing for many threads) and did not have that back side seat for the yoke screw.
If in doubt, please consult your local dive shop.
ALEXANDER K It should work. A longer thread is usually found in valves rated to 300 bar/ 4300 PSI, but 3180 psi should have the thread length for which this converter was designed.
LAWRENCE M If it fits, it will work.
Mine for some reason did not work.
JOSE A Works very fine! i haved used a lot with no problems
WILLIAM F Not a problem. The overall pressure in the cylinder will still be limited by the allowable cylinder pressure or your current valve. A yoke is typically rated to around 3500 psi, so you will still be well below that.
CURTIS V It should work fine.
ROBERT B I would think so. The adapter is a simple piece, so if it fits your yoke and is properly seated and tightened there's very little else to go wrong. Those sound like famous last words, so check it carefully!
