Questions about this item:
LEWIS H I have been using SP Jet Fins with spring heel straps for many years. I am a warm water diver using SP 3mm Delta boots size 12 (US). According to the size chart I should order XXL fins. OK, done. What size should I order for the spring heel straps?
Chris S I own a pair of these in size XL, and wear XL Scubapro delta boots, my feet are size 11, what size OMS spring straps should I buy? Large? Thanks
ROBIN B You will have to measure to be sure but my guess would be an 8" spring straps. The foot pocket on these is longer than other fins so your foot goes in further thus requiring a shorter strap. I prefer XS Scuba spring straps but OMS are also good.
Chris S Hey Robin, thanks for the response, do you have any knowledge or experience with the Halcyon spring straps? Thanks
ROBIN B Not personally but two of my tech buddies love them.
Shopper I own a pair of these in size XL, and wear XL Scubapro delta boots, my feet are size 11, what size OMS spring straps should I buy? Large? Thanks
MICHAEL H Hard to tell from the info provided. Too many variables. Dunno how your foot fits in the foot pocket and the type of boot you are wearing, regardless of the sizes/measurements. The Slipstream is a great fin. It is strong, good area, nice fluid dynamics and very rigid. Takes strong leg muscles to generate the optimum thrust. That being said, the straps need to be snug to translate the leg power to the fin. Spring straps are great additions (to any fin): too small and they could hurt; too large and they could slip. Of the two options, go with the slightly larger size. If in a real quandry, buy two sizes and send one back. LeisurePro is great. Just don't tell them I said to do this. LOL
Shopper How much does it weight?
RAYMOND M About 2 pounds each. For a big fin they are very light
BRIAN E I'm not certain on the exact weight but I can tell that they are much lighter than the scuba pro jet fins. This is because of the type of material used for the OMS version. It's much lighter. The jet fins are made of the same rubber as a Goodyear tire. Heavy but some people like that. For me it was a matter of cost. Save your money and get the OMS variation along with the heel springs.
ROBERT E M Not sure the exact weight, but I'm sure they are heavier than composite fins. These fins are old school, very durable and similar to what I believe Navy seals use. I used fins like these for many years. I was a commercial diver. I had a pair of modern fins but they broke. These are probably not the best choose for free diving. They are more for scuba diving. I like them for lobstering because you can maneuver better.
== = Im not sure but I dont notice them feeling any heavier than any others Ive used, I hope that helps you. Kevin.
Shopper Do you have this in light colors (white/pink/yellow) or combination colors?
RICHARD S Presently the Slipstreams are like Henry Ford's Model T...you can have any color you want, as long as it's black.
WILLIAM M The Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fin popular with cave, technical, wreck, and dry suit divers, comes in black, only black.
MARK E Any Color black you want
BRIAN E Black is the only color. This fin is a tactical/military type fin so color choice is not an option.
Shopper i have a size 7.5 UK and 5 mill wetsuit bootie. is large gonna be fine and what spring strap size should i get?
JOHN G If you have 7.5 UK feet and 5 mm booties, large should be fine with medium spring straps.
Monica s Large should be ok. Medium spring straps depending on what type of boot you have should be fine.
sean s I have size 9 Aqualung EchoZip Ergo 5mm Boots. What size should I get?
SEAN S I got what you suggested but the EZ Spring Grip-Tight Fin Straps seem too large. The small is only and inch shorter and I'm not sure if that is short enough. Any other suggestions on springs?
RICHARD S I wear Pinnacle 7mm zippered boots in size 9, and the Large Slipstreams fit fine. I would also recommend buying the EZ Spring Grip-Tight Fin Straps in size Medium.
Shopper I wear man size 8.5 shoe. What size fin and spring shall I get ?
Monica s Depending on what boot you are wearing. If you have a soft sole/lighter weight boot Large is ok, but if you have a hard sole thick boot, you will most likely be more comfortable in the XL size. Medium springs should do fine.
Shopper Sorry folks, but here is another size question. I wear a size 12 wide shoe and use 3mil soft soles for warm water and 5mil hard soles for cold water. What size fins and springs should I be looking for?
Thanks for the help
DERRICK K I wear size 11.5 shoes and I fit into XL. For Spring straps, depending on brand name, I fit the fins with Halcyon large size spring straps.
== = With my drysuit boots size 10 my fins fit fine and appear to give plenty of adjustment. I think the sales staff could help you choose what should work for you.Kevin
LAWRENCE D I have a size 10.5 D foot and wear a size 12 Rock Boot (Drysuit) with a pair of size 'L' slipstream and 'L' strap. Fo ryour size foot, I would recommend the 'XL' slipstream.
ERIN R Large. I wouldnt worry, these fins are worth getting their own booties for the perfect fit...... if none of your others do it. Great if not the best fins for scuba.
Shopper I wear male size 7 shoe my boot is Aqualung 5mm with a wet suit, What size shall I get?
BOB T The large shoulsd work fine.
KEVIN K M-L BUY BOTH TRY THEM ON SEND THE ONES THAT DOESNT FIT BACK
Shopper I wear a size 9 Akona Deluxe Molded Sole 6 mm Boots.
What size boots and springs for these fins please?
LARRY C If you are wearing neoprene booties with a wet suit I think you are a large. If wearing rock boots or something like that you need an extra large.
I'm basing this on my own experience with these fins, which are fantastic by the way. I am a 10 1/2 mens and use an extra large for the booties I wear with my wetsuit and a XXL for use with my drysuit rock boots.
You might also consider spring straps. You won't regret it. My wife is a new OW diver and thanks me for talking her into spring straps everytime she bends down to put her fins on.
Hope this helps.
Themis K I wear a shoe size 12.5. My boots are 4mm. What size shall I get?
CLAYTON L I wear a size 10 1/2 whites dry suite boot and have XXL and love them. if you order them big and get spring straps for them you will not have a problem. IF you order them small you will hate them. I ordered a XL first and immediately sold them to my brother. So order big.
BEN S I would guess xtra large for you, i am a size 10 and my boots are the same and i went with large.
JUSTIN M I wear 10.5/11 with 5mil boots and bought an XL. Although I would stay away from these. They are a copy cat of the scubapro jet fins, but missed the mark. They are very hard and rigid fins. They feel as if they are made of hard plastic, with a rubber coating. Makes them a little lighter then the jet fins, but far inferior. Buy some jet fins, they make them to 3xl now. I went out and bought some because I was disappointed with these.
But even better then the jet fins are the scubapro nova sea wings. Best buy far.
Themis K Thanks Justin. I had my doubts as well. I am also more incline toward the jet fins
Anne D I wear UK5/XS boots. Will size L with Small spring strap work for this size?
LAWRENCE D Probably not. Pocket may be too large making the fin waver over the foot.
Though they are a very nice set of fins, it is too bad they do not make a smaller size, like M.
Anne D Thank you for your advice. Pity, they don't make smaller size... Umm, female Tec Divers need to send out requests together, don't we? (;->) I shall study more about other fins now.
Philip P What fin size for a female diver wearing an AQUA LUNG MANTA 5mm Ladies size 9 booties?
Jungho K Wow, I'm really getting mixed responses... Thanks for the responses but some say they fit snug so I should go larger, others say they fit large so size down... Can anyone from Leisurepro provide me with an answer? I wear men's 6 in the 7mm Henderson Aqualock boots. Majority of my diving with the Slipstreams will be with these boots; not drysuit boots... For warm water diving I use 5mm Mares boots with size Small in Scubapro Seawing Nova's... Many Thanks...
TOM M I wear size 91/2 shoes and the medium Slipstreams fit perfectly.
GALEN H "Philip P, I have some advice for you - I like jet fins. They're the benchmark fins today are measured against. The US Navy still use them, many technical divers do as well. This style of fin has been in use for over 40 years because they're extremely tough, functional, and suitable for most situations under and above water. There are several companies that make jet fins, each having their own differences. The Scubapro and US Divers model is mostly unchanged since the original design from forty years ago. The ends have a little flex to them, but not much. They usually come with rubber straps, but can be retrofitted with many different kinds of aftermarket spring straps. They're good fins. Hollis has recently developed their own style of jet fin, the F1. With a modernized streamlined design, spring straps come already installed, which is an added bonus. The fin comes in many sizes to accommodate most peoples' boot choice. I've even used a pair of hiking boots to dive with the XXL size. These are the least stiff of all the jet fins, but just as reliable, rugged, and functional. The OMS Monoprene Slipstream Fins were the first pair of jet fins I owned. I've used them off and on for three years, particularly with wetsuit dives. I like them, but these fins are VERY VERY stiff. They're like attaching two foot long 2x4 boards from the lumber yard to your feet, and kicking with them. Unless you have monster soccer player thighs / legs (which I do), I wouldn't use them. Instead, I propose an alternative - If you have your heart set on jet fins, I suggest looking into the Hollis F1s. They're the best jet fin out there. If you're open to a more revolutionary design in fin technology, take a look at Force Fins. I love them. They look weird, and they take a bit of getting used to, but they're the best fin on the market for wetsuit divers. The the perfect balance of kicking resistance and power, you won't feel the leg strain while flying through the water."

SMITTY S I would go with a small to medium size[as far as this chart] but I would go with the spring strap's for a good fit,,, two sizes smaller then what you are use to..
Jungho K I wear size 6 in the 7mm Henderson Aqualock boots. What size would be the best for me? Thanks...
DOROTHY E The slipstream has a large foot pocket. I wear mine with a dry-suit boot. With a wet-suit boot I think the large would be best, and even that may have a little side-to-side movement. Since you can adjust the strap it should be just fine, but if you purchase spring straps you will need a fairly small size of spring strap. Wait until you get the fin to order spring straps - then you can measure to decide on the length of the spring strap.
Jungho K Dorothy, what size shoes do you wear? 8 women's? That would equate to about 6 men's... If so, I would likely need the same size of Slipstreams as yours... Note, I would do the majority of my diving with 5-7 mm wetsuit boots... rarely dry-suit... So perhaps I should go with a Medium? thanks...
JERALD T It appears your customer is female. If so, you should inquire as to what type of diving she does or is going to do? The slip stream requires strong leg muscles to avoid leg cramps. If the dive is going to cave/wreck dive then the OMS fin is superior to anyothers I have found, not negative buoyant. There is a small technical flaw in the design. If you over kick the fin, the moment of bend will change from where it it designed to about mid way of the foot pocket. Otherwise, the OMS is a great set of fins. I have done about 200 dives in open water and caves. I recommed them. As far as the size, I would think a medium is OK unless the diver is planning to use rock boots. I also recommend the SS spring heel straps. They are a must.
JT
BEN L They seem to fit small/snug, so I'd go for a larger size.
Caloy T wear a size 9, 5mm boot. what size fin and spring should i order? thanks.
SEIYA F I have XL size fins for seasoft stealth size 9. The boot sole is pretty thick. I use the medium length springs but longer springs could have been more comfortable.
== = i think it is safer to go to a size larger and snug them to tighten
THOR T Pretty much the same as me I'm using XL fins and medium finstrap. That was all that was available when I bought, it works. I've been thinking of replacing my XL with L but haven't found a good reason to do it so far.
MARK E All I can offer is that I have about size 12 shoe.
I ordered:
SKU: OMSFS
Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins 2X-Large
SKU: OMSSS
OMS Spring Heel Strap set for Monoprene Fins X-Large
These are for My Drysuit Boots (Size 12 I think?) and the combination works great.
I would GUESS you would start with size Large Fin and not sure about Spring . . .
Shopper I see an answer here that fits my question but I would like to ask it in a different way. I wear size 10 5mil booties wet and a size 11 rockboot with my DUI. I purchased from you both a size L and XL Apollo Bio Fin Pro with SS springs. I found out that my XL's actually work great for both although slightly loose but comfortable and secure on my wet booties and a little tight but useable on my 11 Rockboots. I no longer use my L Apollos. Would the XL's with XL spring straps work for both like my Apollo XLs?
BRIAN F Yes, they will fit. The pocket is slightly smaller than scuba pro twin jet, or jet fin.
JAMES E Iuse the same size spring asfin and it has worked fine--also with a 5ml bootie
Shopper I wear a size M/8 scubapro delta short 5mm boot. What size boots and springs for these fins please?
ERIC R I just need to know your foot size.
TODD F Is the 8 a mens or womens? I wear an 8 boot, but I wear a size 10 womens street shoe. I take the XL fin. If I remember correctly, my XL fins take the L spring.
Shopper I'm a US size 8.5, which size should I get? is the large too big?
DENNIS H I would first ask if the boot you have is a wetsuit booty or if you are using a burly rock boot for a drysuit, if its the later I would imagine an large would work but your run of the mill wetsuit booty would have a little play. I would overall go large, better to have a little room then cram in a med. By the way I'm a size 9.5 and have xl which is perfect for my drysuit and still works for my wetsuit booty. The spring straps are great as well
ERIC R Probably, but if you're a strong swimmer, a large might work.
mike w My foot size is 10 what size should i get to fit my foot?
ALLAN S Hi Mike
I am also a size 10. I bought the XL's. Been diving since 1970. They are the best fins that I have ever owned.
JOSE R Hello Mike,
I bought a pair of these fins size XXL for when I dive in my drysuit. My foot size is about a 9.5 in, but the DUI boots that I use make my foot a little bit longer to about 10 in. I would get the XXL if I was you, because you might need the extra space. Also, I recommend that you get the OMS Spring Heel Straps as they truly complement the fins. In addition, I can say that I am very satisfied with my pair of fins, and they truly work very well underwater with minimal effort. They give you more thrust underwater, with very little resistance. I've had many fins in the past, and these are by far my favorites. Good luck with your purchase, and I hope you enjoy your new pair of fins as I have enjoyed mine. Take care!
Jose Ruiz
Lake Worth, FL
JEFF A Mike i would get the XL. i use them them with wetsuit booties and drysuit attached boots. they are good fins
MICHAEL M I have xl for my dry suit boots. Probably to big for regular set up
PIOTR K It also depends on the boot you are using. My foot is 9.5 and I got XLs. They work pretty well with my DUI Turbo Sole Boots
Shopper What spring straps fit these fins?
LeisurePro S The spring straps for these fins can be found here.
Shopper What is the weight of these fins vs Hollis F1?
LeisurePro S A pair of the Slipstreams are approx. 5 pounds and a pair of the F1 fins are 6.5 pounds.
Shopper I wear size 10 5mm boots. What size?
LeisurePro S I would recommend an XL fin with a large spring strap.
Shopper I have a Poseidon flexsuit with size 44 rock boots. What size fins?
LeisurePro S I would recommend the 2XL fins.
Shopper What is the dry weight for a pair of Slipstream fins?
Shopper I wear a 5mm hard sole boot and I was wondering what size slipstreams I should get, as well as what size spring straps would work.
LeisurePro S I would recommend the Xlarge if you have a show size between 9-12. Large than 12 and I would go with the 2xl. For the spring straps, order one size smaller than the fin size you ordered.
Shopper I wear a size 9 Scubapro delta tropic 5mm boot. What size boots and springs for these fins please.
LeisurePro S I would recommend the XL fins with the large springs.
Shopper will xxl slipstreams accommodate a size 13 rockboot?
LeisurePro S Yes, I have known people with a size 13 to wear them.
Shopper I wear as size 10 and one half shoe. What size springs should I get for and XL fin
LeisurePro S XL large fin, Large spring strap.
Shopper Can you tell me how much a pair of XL Slipstreams weigh. I currently have SP Jets but I need something lighter for travelling
LeisurePro S The fins are 5 lbs.
Shopper I have a DUI dry suit with size 11 rock boots. What size OMS Slipstream fins and spring straps should I buy?
LeisurePro S 2XL fins and XL straps should work out.
Shopper Recommendation for fin and spring size to fit a size 10 DUI Rockboot.
LeisurePro S XL should fit fine.
Shopper I have the following boots in size 10 (large) http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/SSTBS.html What size OMS Slipstream fits this boot? Most size 10 feet w/boots fit an XL Slipstream fine, but I am worried the thicker sole of the Seasoft may require an XXL.
LeisurePro S I believe the Xl is the right choice.
Shopper I am wearing a seasoft large , hard sole boot. I also use atomic xl splitfins. My question is, which size oms slipstreams would I wear: and which size spring straps? thank you
LeisurePro S XL and Large spring
Shopper I was wondering what size slipstream fins to get...I wear size 11/XL scubapro 5mm boots w/ a soft sole...I'm also looking to get the spring strap kit, what size of those should I get
Shopper I am a size 13 shoe and I wanted to know which size to choose for the Oms Slipstream Monoprene Fins XL or 2 XL....Thanks
LeisurePro S Since you need a boot with the oms fin 2x is recommended. With the gara fin XL is correct.
