Shopper What the difference between pre-strung and unstrung one?
MICHAEL E The only difference between the strung and unstrung harnesses is that with the unstrung one you must install the webbing on the backplate. Otherwise they are identical except you'll save a few bucks by doing it yourself. The instructions that come with the unstrung harness are good. Additionally, if you need to adjust the size you will have to undo most of the webbing anyway so it makes sense to do it yourself. Good luck!
ANDREW L Main difference is the savings. Unstrung is all of the components, unassembled. By following the instructions, you can string the harness yourself and become more familiar with your equipment. Just takes a little patience.
JARED R There is no difference in what you get, the only difference is with the unstrung harness there is no assembly required. you are paying extra for a pre-strung harness for someone else to attach the webbing to the backplate and add all the D rings. If you are not familiar with tech equipment or backplates, you may want to go with the pre-strung kit. The unstrung kit is nice because, if you know what you are doing, you can really custom fit the harness. The directions that come with it, are not bad and some info and pics can be found on OMS's website as well. One last benefit of getting the unstrung kit over the pre-strung kit is the ability to learn how it all goes together so you can change things, such as d ring placement, or adding other accessories easier. Hope that helps
