A Must Have For All Divers

By Redshark

I have owned this product for use in rescue diving for my fire department since august of 2012 and have logged 68 dives. I have compared this to several different styles and models and by far this is the best that I have seen. This has all the advance features of a more expensive dive computer with the simplicity of one button use. This one button can be overwhelming at first but it becomes very easy to use after 10 minutes self exploration of the controls. I have dived with this computer in ...

The Oceanic VEO 1.0 is a Solid Basic Dive Computer designed for Air or Single Gas NITROX Mixes up to 50%. It Displays Only-Essential Information during the Dive in Easy-to-Read Digits; uses Effective-Bar Graphs to present Nitrogen Loading and Ascent Rate; and offers useful features like an Automatic Safety Stop Countdown Timer that ticks off three minutes when you ascend to 15' (4.6 meters). A Single Push Button is all that's required to Navigate-the-Settings and the Sequences are Intuitive with help from the Excellent Owner's Manual and Waterproof Prompt Card. At this price point, you are giving up bells and whistles--most notably audible alarms, a backlight and the ability to download dive profiles--but these are excellent choices if you want a simple, low-cost computer.

The Oceanic VEO 1.0 is powered by Oceanic's Exclusive Dual Algorithm - Your choice between Pelagic DSAT (Spencer/Powell data basis) or Pelagic Z+ (Buhlmann ZHL-16C data basis). The Computer is Water and/or Manually Activated, provides Time of Day Display in a 12 or 24 hour Format, will Automatically Adjust for Altitude Diving from 2,000' to 14,000' (610 to 4,200 meters) and has a 24 Hour Time to Fly Countdown Function. The Computer has a 12 Dive-On-Unit-Log Capacity, Pre-Dive Planning Sequence Function, provides Temperature and can be set for Imperial or Metric Units of Measure.

The Oceanic VEO 1 Computer has a Deep Stop Option, Decompression Capability for 10' to 60' (3 to 18 meters), Variable Ascent Rate Function, Nitrogen Tissue Loading Bar Graph, Numeric Percentage Oxygen Loading, O2 Time Remaining and is equipped with a User-Replaceable CR 2450 Battery with an 8-Second Hot-Swap" Function to Retain Calculations during a Battery Change. The Computers Operation Depth is 330' (100 meters). The Oceanic VEO 1.0 Wrist Dive Computer comes with a Digital Online Class and is covered by a 60 month limited Warranty.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Is this the same size as the Veo 100 nx? If so, where can I find/buy just the wrist boot?
JOE S  It is the same size and you can purchase this wrist boot from Leisure Pro.
BRAD V  yes it is the same size not sure where you can buy the boot maybe Leisure Pro
Steven p  can this be removed and placed in a console?
ALBERTO S  Yes. Same bezel as other oceanic consoles.
JERRY P  Yes, mine came in a wrist mount as shown but I put it in my console. Small metal pin typically at front that you push through to remove
SCOTT P  Yes you can, I have done the same with mine.
YUVAL T  yes, easily
RONALD H  yes
THOMAS R  Dear STeven, I don't know if it could bve placed in a console but it is the standard size and you can buy a hose hockey size puck holder for it and I bet it would fit in a console. It's a standard size. Good luck, Tommy
Eric W  If I do a nitrox dive and have a surface interval, what happens if I don't re-enter the oxygen percentage? My Data Max resets to 50% oxygen for partial pressure calculations and 21% for nitrox calculations.
YAN G  If default is ON, it reverts to 50% 10 minutes after the dive. If Default is OFF, it reverts to the last setting used.
Eric W  Thanks. I like the idea that I can set the default.
Ian W  I went past my deco stop and my veo 1 locked me out. I took battery out and back in and still locked out. How do I fix it?
CONNIE C  I have put my Veo into deco but have not missed a stop so I haven't seen this. The Veo is fairly forgiving but will lock out for 24 hrs by going into violation gauge mode. I suspect the violation mode is held in memory so that it doesn't allow the power down reset or you didn't leave the battery out long enough. I'm sure you know this but I feel obligated to tell you that resetting a dive computer that went into violation mode is not a good practice unless you enjoy chamber rides. I've found the veo to be quite liberal on par with some of my technical diving computers so be careful. Chuck
ALBERTO S  try leaving the battery out for a longer period of time. If that does not work you will have to wait 24 hours to be cleared to continue diving. I have definitely had it reset after popping out the battery.
YAN G  This will clear after 24 hours.
Tom J  Hello I had a question about my VEO 1.0 that I purchased from here. After about ten dives with no problem, it will no longer turn on. It still goes through the initial countdown like normal but afterward its just blinks ALT in the lower left corner four to five times then shuts off. What do I do?
CONNIE C  I have over 100 dives on mine and I have not seen what you are describing. Usually a failed countdown would indicate the need for a new battery or a failed pressure transducer. The “Alt” may mean “Altitude” which would indicate the transducer. If you’ve changed the battery, send it back. I’ve found this computer to be a dependable, 1 gas, nitrox computer that gives predictable results. I have had it in deco (remember your training and the computer warnings) and it seems to work well there as well. Sorry I wasn’t much help. Chuck
DONALD K  It may need a new battery. But first try to find the little hole, the reset button, and using a toothpick or such, press and hold for 5-10 seconds, then release. this will completely reset the computer and you will have to re-enter date, time, etc.
SHANNON D  Ours did this when the battery was low. When we changed out the battery, it stopped. Probably not a helpful answer though, good luck!
CONNIE C  Change the battery and if that doesn't work, send it back.
WALLEY A  I've never had ours do anything like this in the two years that we've had ours. I would hope the only problem with it is that you have a weak battery. We usually replace the battery in ours every year. If that doesn't fix the problem, I guess you'll have to contact Oceanic for a solution. Good luck with your dive computer.
