Shopper What is the Wing Lift ?
Michael C The lift capacity for all sizes is 44 pounds
Sharon E I can see that the BC has only one tank strap, but it looks that it is possible to add another one. Do you know if it is possible? Thanks in advance.

WILLIAM K It has only one but that'sall you need. With curved tank pocket it fits tite with no movement. I have tech rigs but tbe excursion is my all around goto bc. Hope this helps. KD
Shopper Are there any pockets (other than for weight)?
JEANETTE D There is a large drop down pocket that rolls out, but other than that only weight pockets.
RANDY B On the right side (as you are wearing the BC), there is a zipper. Unzip the zipper and there is a pocket (storage pouch) that rolls up into the zippered area (this zipper is also used to secure items with the three gromets seen in the bottom gray portion). No pockets/pouches on the left side.
BRIAN E There is a fold down pocket that can dangle on your right hip. Sized a little smaller than could hold a brick. Other than that - no pockets.

BEHNAMA B Yes. There are two pockets that are right under the weights. If you are looking at the picture, look at the bottom of it where there are the hole in a gray area, that where it is. Its had a zipper and it's pretty big when you roll them out. I keep my knife inside one of them.

RICHARD S 1. I have used the Excursion BC for cold water (40 degrees F) wreck diving in the Great Lakes with no problems.
2. I am 5'7" and weigh 165 lbs, and a medium fits perfectly. What's nice about the Excursion is that the cummerbund is adjustable to accommodate a large span of torso sizes.
ALLAN M It should be good for cold water diving. I would go with the medium. I am about the same size and got a large, I think mine is a little big.
WILLIAM K I also live in the northeast and have been using my excursion for three years and love it. Easy, simple and durable. Im diving off jersey coast today on the jb. I also dive in dutch springs in may where it get pretty cold. I used it in west palm to. Med sz sounds good. Hope this help. KD
DERRICK H As this is a travel bc, I am not sure it would be ideally suited for cold water. You could certainly get away with it in cold water though.
As for size, I would recommend large, especially f you are diving I'm cold water. The thicker wetsuit or even the dry suit will be enough you'll be glad you got a large. I wear it in warm water with 3 mm wetsuit and I have a large. And I am 5'9" and weigh 200.
Shopper Where do I buy the integrated weights for this BC?
WILLIAM W The pouches are intergrated, and will take either bag or hard lead weights. I find the hard lead weights are easier to slip into the pockets/pouches. There are 2 trim pouches that can hold up to 5lbs each and then 2 side pouches that slip out of the pocket for ease of loading/unloading and for emergency dumping of weights.

PHILIP L The BC should come with the pouches for the integrated weight system. Most any weight should work with it, although bags of shot weight will be much more comfortable
RON M I bought some of the old style molded lead weights from my local dive shop. You might be able to find the bean bag style from leisure pro. Both work fine.
FRANK R Most dive shops sells them and if they don`t have them in stock,they can order it for them. I got mine weights from the dive shop close to my house.
DUSTIN H Any dive shop has them. They r just the lead bbs like any bc will use.
KENNETH D W You can buy here on leisure pro or anywhere you can find weights. I bought soft pouches to use when I dive locally, and then I rent the traditional belt weights on vacation, that slide easily into the weight pouches. No special weights needed. The integrated just means you don't have to wear a belt of weights.
LISA T I assume you mean replacement weight pockets rather than the actual weights. if you do an online search you will find several sites that offer it. Scuba Toys has the pockets on their website for the older Excursion. I am sure that many others also off the Excursion 2 replacements.

LIDIA AND SIMON V I am 6'3'' and 230. I wear an XL if that helps. It is about the right fit for me. I think a Med. would be too small for you. Go with a Large.

PETER G I'm 6'2", 195lbs, 35" waist and own this BC in "large". It fits perfectly for cold water diving, where I'm wearing a 7mm one piece topped with a 7mm hooded vest. It's a little larger than I need for tropical waters.

Shopper Lift capacity in large z..?
JASON W I dont recall exactly but it's right about 50 pounds. I've done around 60 dives in mine, a dozen or so in a dry suit with 26-28 pounds and the rest in the carib with 8-12 depending on suit. 6' and 190 pounds, it has more than enough lift and is suitable for almost and dive environment.
MARCUS B First, let me just say I love this BC. This is my first back bladder BC so I was a little apprehensive about buying it at first, but all my concerns went away the minute I entered the water...never felt more comfortable diving. Now to answer your question, I have a Medium size and I am 6 feet 205 pounds...I have plenty of bouyancy on the surface and easily remain in an upright posture.

KENNETH D W Best I can recall it is 45lbs of lift through all sizes. Although no matter what I've dive with I have not had any issue with lift. Starting out I had steel tank and 18lbs of weight (I don't need that anymore) and I've not had any issues. A little extra, I'm 6'1" and 185lbs and the large fits with 5mil wetsuit for quarry diving, but when I take to warm water and I'm in just a skin, it's a little big.
MICHAEL H I have the xl bc and go down with 35 lbs and have no problem coming up!
BEHNAMA B I am not sure what your question is but I'm very happy with this BC.
Jackson K I am a non-typical build, fairly tall and lean (6'3'', 165lbs). I don't fit into size categories very well, when I look for something in my height range, it wants me to weight 40+ more lbs. Conversely, when I look for something in my weight range, I am expected to be like 7 inches shorter.
For a BCD, should I give more priority to matching my height or my weight?
For this specific BCD, which size do you think would fit me best?

CHRISTOPHER W Match your weight....the worst thing you can wear is a loose fitting BC.....but let me offer a little advise since you hard to fit....switch to a back plate and wing. It will cost you a little more money but they fit much better and are much more customizable to any body shape.
LIDIA AND SIMON V I am 6'3'', but I weigh 230. I wear an XL in this wetsuit. It seems to be the right size for me despite the fact I usually wear an XXL. In your case, 65 lbs lighter, I think a LARGE would be ideal. I hope this helps.
JOHN M According to the sizing chart and based on height your an XL and based on weight your a medium. Bouyancy is determined by weight however, not knowing your chest or waist size two other criteria for selection and not knowing if you will be diving with a wetsuit, If yes I would go with the large.
DAN A I'm 6'1" 165 and almost never fit into the categories in size charts, which is a much bigger problem with wetsuits then BC's. I don't remember which size Excursion I got, but I wasn't happy with it as it kept slipping around, at the surface and at depth. I'm not convinced this is an size issue though as have observed other people diving with this bc having the same problem. I eventually went with another, much more simple and streamlined bc, with a backplate and a crotch strap. It always stay exactly where I put it.
Shopper is it capable for twin tanks?
MICHAEL H Honestly I'm not sure if it can be used with two tanks I've only used it with one tank. I dive the California coast only and love the bc. I am a big guy and having a back inflate bc is very comfortable! I would check the the manufacturer to see about two tanks...
OSCAR B The rear is pre-molded for single tank use. Not sure that you can modify it. Also, keep in mind that the bladder is rear inflated and could be restricted with twin tank set-up. Hope this helps.

FRANK R The oceanic excursion I bought I think is only for a single tank. I am not sure if oceanic makes one for a double or twin tank. I absolutely like what I have.
The featues that I look for are incorporated in the bc and for the price,it is really worth it. The quality is topnotch.

LISA T Not as it comes. I have herd that it can be modified but I do not believe it would be simple or worthwhile.
TRAVIS B There's only a single tank strap on the back, so you couldn't put doubles on the back. There are a lot of D-rings out front (two big ones on each side), though, that could maybe support a side-mounted bottle if it was light enough for the lift capacity.
JASON W no its set up for a single, have used from 63 alum to a 121 lp steel in warm and cold. Love my rig in all conditions.
Shopper Does this BC have a solid back that sufficiently stabilizes the tank during your dive? Does the tank move around at all? Solid setup?
JASON W Jim S, I too have an old scubapro strap on my excursion, makes tank swapping a breze and the best strap out there for a good lock. Tank aint movin.
DANIEL D I probably have about 75+ dives with this BC since purchasing it, and have never had a problem with the tank moving. The tank secures nicely, and the vest itself is very comfortable to wear. It is nice and compact, but with lots of places to hook lights, etc.
EDWIN C yes it does, tank does not move around when clamped in. this is an excellently designed BC and i love how well the back bladder keeps you in a perfect position while diving with no feelings of constriction. you will like it, it's made to last nothing cheap.

KYLE M I would say the setup is pretty solid but if really want to you can put a backplate in it and then there would be no question.
JIM S Have had an Oceanic Excusion BC for 2 years and made approximately 100 dives on it. It is an excellent BC and has not shown any wear in the 2 years of use...still looks new. The back is a curved hard plastic with a rubber pad that the tank fits snuggly into with one strap. I have not had any issues with the tank shifting around.
I replaced the stock strap with a scuba-pro SS cinch-strap. The cinch-strap allows you to take the BC off a tank without pulling it over the top, and having to remove the regulator first. (I did this for my own preference and ease of changing tanks. I would have done this on whatever BC I purchased.)
The Oceanic is an excellent BC and has no issues with the tank moving around on your back.
JOHN L This BC has been a pleasure. It is in my storage shed for now and I do not remember if it has a solid back or not? The tank doesn't move around and I have used this for both regular open water and cave dives. The integrated weight pouches are nice as well. It is a solid setup and I would recommend to a friend.
MATT D I didn't have any trouble with it. I think it is one of the better bcds available. About the only way to be more stable is to go with a BP&W. Most of the time, if the tank is moving around on you your bcd is either the wrong size or not adjusted properly.
James B I'm buying this for my girl. She just finished her OW class and I'm looking to get her some intro gear. We'll only be diving in local quarries and the occasional tropical vacations. I don't see us ever tech diving, so no need for overkill.
She is 6' about 170-180lbs. Body frame like Serena Williams but not as muscular and with smaller C cup breasts. She wore a Seaquest Balance BCD for her class, and they gave her an XL which she had to tighten all the way. Should I get her a Medium or Large in the Excusion??
CHRISTOPHER W I am a guy so take that into account but I am 5'10", 42" chest, 34" waist and a large was a bit big on me. I prefer my BCD to hug me like a glove so I wrenched that one down. I have since switched to a backplate and wing and will never look back but for what you are doing the excursion is great BC. You can always hit up a local shop and get sized and then buy online.

DANIEL D Tough call. I am 6' 255lbs, and I have the XL if that helps. I have plenty of room in it, and lifyt is never a problem. XL would definitely be too large. My concern would be how it fits her height at 6'. The medium might ride up too high for comfort.
GREG M Hi James, I have two Exursions. One for me, I'm 6'-2" / 210LBS and have a size large. My wife is 5'-5" and 130LBS and wears a small BCD. I would recommend a medium. I am fairly sure that Leisure Pro would exchange it if it doesn't fit. They are great to work with!
WILLIAM K I think it's a great allaround bcd. I also have tech units but i use the excursion quite offen. I'll give it a 4 1/2 stars. I'm 5' 10 1/2" with a 46 chest and i wear a large. Hope this helps.

TODD G Have you considered a Zina or a Ladyhawk?
TODD G As much as I love this BC not sure if it would be a good fit for her. It is pretty tight fitting thru the chest. You may want to look at a women's BC that has cut for waist and hips and allows pivets to accomidate the bust.
KENNETH D W I got a large and I'm 6'1 and 190lbs. The straps for shoulder fit well and for quarry diving with a skin and 5mil suit the cummerbund fits well. However when I go on vacation to tropical locations and I only use a skin, the cummerbund is a little loose. Since my tropical diving is outweighting my quarry diving I thought about getting a medium cummerbund so I have a 'medium' for tropics and 'large' for quarry. (unless I get a different bc all together for traveling (maybe a 5 lb bc and keep the 9 lb bc for quarry)

LeisurePro S Sorry, unfortunately not. Oceanic BCDs use a 3/4" corrugated hose and the Air 2 has a 1" fitting. Check out the Oceanic Air XS.

LeisurePro S The Oceanic Excursion weighs eight pounds when dry. It is okay for travel, but is twice the weight of the Oceanic Islander. The Excursion is a very sturdy, well made BCD. It is more applicable to a wide variety of diving situations than the Islander, which is primarily a warm water BCD.

LeisurePro S I would recommend an xlarge which has a weight capacity of 30 pounds. If you need a few additional pounds, you can wear a seperate weight belt or get a few pounds of trim weights that attach to your tank.
