Questions about this item:
ROGER M I JUST RECIEVED MY MARES NEMO WIDE. HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE WATER TEMP TO FAHRENHEIT INSTEAD OF CENTIGRADE AND FEET INSTEAD OF METERS? I COULD NOT FIND IT IN ANY OF THE INFO. THANKS.
Frank L Page 4 of the manual, Set Dive-Data, then change meters to feet, and C to F.
Shopper Is this computer the latest generation of Mares Nemo Wide?
BRUCE M I purchased mine about a year ago, so have no clue as to what the current offering is regarding "the Latest". I do love mine, however, and just enjoyed using it on 20 dives at Roatan.
KEITH M Sorry, I don't know. I'm happy with the computer. It's a few years old now. I'be logged a lot of dives with it. There are newer and slicker systems available, but I don't feel the need to replace a good thing.
Shopper What is the difference in functionality between nemo wide and memo matrix?
PAUL P After a little online investigation concerning specs between Matrix and Wide, the only big difference I could find was in looks. My entire family of 4, uses the Nemo Wide. It has a large footprint but makes easy to see while under water. The Matrix looks more like a traditional sports watch. None of my family wears a traditional watch since we all carry cell phones (no need for a watch any more). We have had great service with our Mares Nemo Wide. So far 10 dives and not a single failure.Hope this helps.
Ayman K Is there really a difference in function between the Nemo wide and Nemo matrix? ( I can definitely notice the size difference but not the functionality). Thanks
ARKADIY S I have never used nemo matrix, only the wide. The wide is a really good computer, espcially for an ageing eyes. Good bye now.
BRUCE M I love the Nemo Wide, but have no knowledge bout the Matrix, haven't seen or heard of it.
GYFFORD F Hello Ayman,
Sorry I am unable to help. I am not familiar with the Nemo Matrix. I am very happy with the Nemo Wide. Both my son and I use it for Air and Nitrox and have had no issues. battery life is also good. All the best with your choice. Ultimately is a personal thing. Regards, Gyfford
Shopper How well did it work? Were you happy with it?
ROB K I was very pleased with it. It work very well and easy to set up. I dropped it on the payment and got a small crack in it and then it flooded. I wanted to get it again, but didnt have the money at the the time to buy it. Instead, i bought the Mares puck wrist. It too is a great computer. The nemo wide is a lot easier to read though.
GYFFORD F It works extremely well. Have two Nemo Wide units and they both have had no issues. Clear and easy to read even at 40m+ depth. Use it in AIR and EAN modes. Have the data cable so I am able to download the dive to the PC. Would recommend it to anybody. Regards, Gyff.
THOMAS A Not as fancy as some of my friends have but a good basic computer. Reliable and straightforward. I recommend it.
RALPH S Yes, I am happy with it. I wanted this item because it possesses a big screen and very easy to use and see. I would recommend this item for anyone that desires a good dive computer.
TONY R works well going on 3 years of use & the same battery it came with.
what makes me most happy is its low profile & easy to read. The price has come down quite a bit.
BEN A i hardly have used it but so far it has served it's purpose. i like it because it's easy to read and simple to use.
KEITH M Works great! Used it dozens of times all over the Caribbean and Florida. Fresh water springs, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Really pleased
with performance for the money. Not simple to use, but once you get it, the big display is easy to read, even in low vis environments.
Charles M I fount this dive computer to be very easy to use, it works very well and I was extremely happy with it. The only flaw I have encountered with it was the tempeture feature which shows water tempeture being warmer then it actually feels. Other then that this was a great buy and I would recommend it 100%!
JOYCE S Works fine; very pleased with it. The Mares Nemo is known for having one of the largest displays, so it's much easier to read.
WILLIAM O When I bought the Nemo Wide I was looking for one thing and one thing only ? a display big enough for my 50+ year old eyes to read. On the positive side this is a big display ? the biggest I could find in a wrist unit under $1000. (If money is not an object, and display readability is your goal ? look at Liquivision. I can read that one on my buddy?s wrist, in murky water, 6 feet away.) On the down side ? they waste a whole lot of empty space that they could fill with even bigger numbers. Overall I?m happy with it ? it?s my backup now to a Mares Icon, which I bought for the multi gas capability. It?s actually easier to read than the Icon. As a dive computer, it does exactly what I need it to do without clutter or complex buttons. I also like the RGMB model better that the Modified Haldanean model in the Palegic (Oceanic, Aeris etc). Its conservative without limiting the overall dive time I can get in over a weekend or even a whole week of diving. Overall ? I am satisfied with it and would have no problems recommending it.
Jack L C Thickness of watch case?
ARKADIY S Hello,
Thickness between the back of the computer and its bezel is 21.5 mm.
JOYCE S The watch case is about 3/4 of an inch thick.
I am a PADI certified divemaster. I've always used Suunto brand dive computers, but my husband (and dive buddy) needed something with a larger display. I purchased this particular model for him specifically for that reason and he's been very happy with it, so I give this model a positive recommendation.
KEITH M Case is about 1/2 inch. Sounds clunky but it isn't.
JUSTIN S It is 1/2". Maybe 5/8. It's a great dive computer. this is my second one.
STEVE P It's 7/8 inch thick, 3 1/4 inch wide, and about 2 1/2 tall.
I bought one for myself, then about a year later bought one for my wife, the later another for my daughter. It's a great dive computer and I've been very pleased with the ones I've bought.
kim m What is the safety stop depth range programmed into the computer? Is it changeable?
TONY R The safety stop depth is 19 to 15 feet...
as far as it being programmable I'm sure it is... although I've never needed to.
Most of my dives are recreational and rarely below 100ft...
hope that helps
DOUGLAS O KIIM,
IT STARTES COUNTING DOWN WHEN YOU COME UP TO 20 FEET.
AND I DO BELIEVE YOUCAN CHANGE IT TO 15 FEET IF YOU WANT .
I LIKE IT AT 20 BECAUSE I DID A LOT OF DEEP DIVES AT DEVILS THROATIN COZUMEL LAST WEEK.
ROBERT G For most reliable information, see the owners manual on Mares web site.
KEITH M Safety stop is set at 3.2 m. I have not tried to change it.
BRUCE M "If the maximum depth of a dive exceeds 10 meters, a "Safety Stop" is activated for the ascent. Nemo Wide suggests that divers take a 3-minute stop between 2.5 and 6 m in depth (8-19 ft) and will display the word "Safest". A timer located on the display bar indicates the time needed to complete the stop. If the diver moves outside the aforementioned depth range, the safety stop timer is halted. When the diver re-enters the correct depth range, the safety stop timer resumes from where it left off. If the diver returns to a depth below 10 m (32 ft), the safety stop timer will ignore the previously aborted stop and will start over from scratch. In the case of a decompression-stop dive, the safety stop timer extends the duration of the decompression stop at 3 m (10 ft) by 3 minutes, displaying the safety stop information as described previously."
Apparently NOT user-changeable. Why would one want to ??
kim m My Mares M2 only registers a safety stop above 16.5 feet, and stops the SS countdown if you drop below that, which is not always ideal. It's the one feature of that computer that I wish I could change that I can't!! Thanks for your very thorough answer!
CHUNGHAO C 3 to 6 meters for non deco dives and it is not changeable
Shopper is the nemo wide has the option to conect to Transmitter ?
MAX K No the Nemo wide does not have the option to be a wireless Transmitter/Receiver.
HIRSH L It does not have an optional transmitter.
JOSEPH M My understanding is that this version does not have this option.Supposedly there was some talk of upgrading the firmware on the Icon to allow it, but as far as I know, that hasn't materialized either. I use the Aeris Elite T3 which I bought from LP and couldn't be happier with it. It does have a transmitter and works great.
Shopper what is the size of the screen ?
MARLENE W It is about 4 inches wide and 2 inches tall. I bought it for my BF last Christmas and it is awesome. You can read/see no problems, I can be next to him and see his which I like until I can get a new one becasue I don't like mine as much as his. It is very easy to use as well.
ARKADIY S Hello,
Computer display diagonal is 65 mm. Large digits. Quite good for aging eyes.
The only disadvantage, in my opinion, is the strap is too stiff.
MARIO C I believe it is 2 inches by 3 inches wide. I have bad vision and although I have a perscription mask I found that the smaller computers were hard to read. The screen on this computer is big enough and makes it real easy to read under any environment (daytime or nighttime). Occasionally I find other divers reading my computer. I recomend it.
STEVE F The Nemo is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" screen size- great wrist computer - easy to use
JOSEPH S The screen size is 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" I really like this D.Computer it large display easy to read and opperate.
JOHN H approx 1-1/2" x 2 1/4"
MAX K The Mares Nemo Wide screen size is 2.5 x 1.5 inches or 6.3 x 3.8 cm.
KJERSTI S Approximately 1 1/2" X 2"
Shopper 1) Is Nemo PC / Mac downloadable?
2) Can it switch gases during the dive?
KJERSTI S If you purchase Macdive, it is Mac compatible. They have the driver you need to download for Mac. That is the program I use for it.
BRUCE M 1) The data can be downloaded with the additional ($85) cable. I haven't purchased that yet.
TONY R 1- yes you can download and update from PC .... i'm not a apple person So i Don't know about mac.
2- I'm not certified with Nitrox ... so i've never tried ... good question though...
BEN A i download it on to a pc. don't know if it can be used for a mac. haven't tried switching gas during a dive.

Whats in the box:Computer and Owner's Manual The Best Interface between Man and the Sea Nemo Wide was designed to be easy-to-read, intuitive to use, safe, and reliable. A large size display was one of the primary requirements behind the creation of this product. In order to optimize readability in every circumstance, special attention was paid to the size and brightness of the numbers, to the intensity of the backlighting, and to maximizing the viewing angle. Another key characteristic of Nemo Wide is that it is simple to use, due to the user friendly Easy-Access system with four buttons. The ergonomic design and the many cutting edge technical characteristics indisputably make Nemo Wide the best interface between man and the sea. Nemo Wide Computer uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm. The RGBM takes into account the phenomenon of micro-bubbles in order to prevent their formation. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos laboratories, the formation of micro-bubbles has been studied and evaluated in order to better understand the mechanism behind how micro-bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the most evolved algorithm for reducing the formation of micro-bubbles without compromising dive times. The easy excess push buttons allow the diver to operate the computer in all conditions, even when wearing thick gloves. Navigating through the computer programs is extremely simple and very intuitive. There are three special function modes of Air, Nitrox and Bottom Time. The Nemo Wide has a maximum depth display of 492' (150 meter), a memory capacity of 38 hours, runs on a 3 Volt CR2450 lithium-ion battery, power indicator, back lighting for low light conditions, has a plan mode display, can be used in both imperial or metric units, fresh or seawater settings, residual nitrogen reset, option to exclude audible alarms and uncontrolled ascents", has an ascent rate indicators and is altitude adjustable. The Nemo Wide knows that not all of us who dive are young and in peak condition, it address this with precautionary program settings that allow individual adjustment to more conservative dive profiles if needed. When you do multi-level, multiple dives during a single day or multiple dives over several days you can choose different setting levels in order to adjust your computer to a more conservative dive profile. The Nemo has superior display readability. In order to offer an easy-to-read display Mares produced a wide computer display, with intense backlighting and high contrast. The computer featuring illuminated, oversized digits with a mineral glass screen which is scratch resistant, shock proof and non-reflective. Special attention is paid to maximize the viewing angle, to eliminate angular distortion and to always grant the best readability. The Nemo Wide has an optional USB interface for logging dives on your PC, SKU: MRSPCNMW PC Interface. The computer is also software upgradeable over the internet using the DRAK interface. This feature makes it possible to download the latest software developments as Mares creates them, without the need to buy a new computer unit. The Nemo Wide also has a watch, Calendar and temperature functions. Smart, easy to use and upgradeable the Nemo can do it all. Computer comes with an Owner's Manual and a 24 month limited warranty.
