I started diving in 2009 and a friend gave me his old computer at the time. It was fine but I love this one - it's small and adds features I didn't have before: it demands a safety stop of me and then it counts down required time.

I do NOT have trouble reading it but I think one might as it isn't large. I've only done one trip with it so far, which means I cannot comment on long-term reliability.

Bought used, but other than not coming in a box looked and worked like new. Will by another when available for my wife.

Mares did a great job creating a simple to use but feature-ful dive computer. If you are a rec diver and want a great computer at a reasonable price this should be on your list.
