Questions about this item:
Shopper how much does it weigh?
HELEN D The Technomat 135 weighs 12 lb.
Shopper Does this bag fit the airline guidelines for size?
CHARLES B I take it every trip, so yes, but it is so big its easy to go over weight.
DAVID H Not as a carryon, but for checked luggage have never had an issue with it, and this bag has been all over the Caribbean and US dive sites
JUSTIN M Yes. But they keep changing stuff so check with the airlines. I brought mine to Mexico twice... No problems.
DAVID R B Sorry I can not. Have not tried to fly with it.
JULIAN H I flew to Hawaii this year, and did not have a problem. Though I suggest you leave your weights behind. :) I was able to put all of my beach clothes, and towels in the bag to.
JEFFERY L I have used this bag since 2007. The bag fits checked luggage guidelines on commercial jets. I have not used it on smaller flights. I have carried two sets of gear (BCDs, fins, masks, and some other equipment. Regs/computers in carryon), and the only challenge is making sure that it is under the 50lbs weight limit for most airlines.
NANCY S You will not have a problem with size but if you actually put enough stuff into it to completely fill the bag ..... it will weight approximately 1200 pounds and they will charge you extra. A LOT extra ...... !
I have actually owned two of these bags bought about two years apart and the construction on both has been great. All of the carry handles are very sturdy. The wheels and extendable handle are just as sturdy and the amount of space is enormous.
I have actually fit enough dive gear in the bag for three divers. Of course the weight becomes way too much for airlines at this point but it is a testament to the volume of the bag.
The only thing that does not really seem to serve a true purpose is the shock cord on the outside of the bag. not sure if I have ever stuffed anything under that shock cord???!!
My bags have traveled numerous times on planes and the only issue that has ever arisen is the weight issue. Just to be clear it is one of the lightest, large capacity, roller bags on the market. It comes in around ten pounds which is very similar to REI bags of the same volume.
Anyway, hope this helps .....
DONNA N Yes it does (for checked luggage, not carry on!) - I've traveled to Indonesia, Honduras, Florida etc with this bag and have never had a problem with the airlines.
Shopper Will XL scubapro seawings nova fins fit inside the fin pocket?
LeisurePro S Yes, the fin pocket on this bag are approx. 28", and the Seawings are around 26".
Shopper Please can you tell me if the bag stays upright on its own? And, do you consider this a well draining gear bag?
NANCY S Do not put wet gear in this bag. It is not a bag to take onto a dive boat; it is for protecting your gear while traveling on planes.
LeisurePro S Yes, this bag stands up straight, but there aren't any draining features.
Shopper Hi, I would like to know the weigth of this bag?
NANCY S This is true, roughly 10 pounds.
LeisurePro S Empty weight of this bag is appx 9.5 pounds.
Shopper Hi, would like to know if i can fit gear for 2 diver in this bag ( mask, tube, wet, fins, vest, regulator)
NANCY S Haha, yeah no 7mm suits, but I have actually fit gear for three divers in this bag before. Granted there was no "clothes" in the bag but what are your priorities???
LeisurePro S This will fit 2 divers gear very snugly as long as the wetsuits and BC's are not too big (no 2 piece 7mm suits).
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
JOE F this only lasted two trips before it fell apart - we blame the TSA and brittle backplate

Whats in the box:Backpack Wheel Bag and Removable Pocket The Mares Tech-Nomad 135 Roller Bag is a very roomy bag with a removable pocket, larger wheels, a telescoping handle, and an external fin pockets. All Mares bags include rugged and durable constructed wheels.
