Francisco B If I understood your question Kevin, I guess you got the wrong thread. I have 8 mm shafts and the thread has to be 7 mm so if you have 7 mm shafts, you need to get the 6 mm female adaptor so it can get screwed on your 7 mm shaft.
About this JBL item, I have both pieces (Slip tip and the adaptor). It's simply a great invention, works great, comes in and out very easy, the female adaptor screws perfectly on my 7 mm shafts and most important: It was made to save shafts from bending.
Where I do spearfishing, we have to deal with huge Amberjacks, red snappers, wahoos among others and it's the only thing I really trust on.
Make sure to use a strong Dynema cord, Kevlar or a good stainless steel cable.
If you need any additional help or information, I'll be glad to help you in whatever I can.
