Shopper This would be my first foray into using these braided hoses. I'm looking at buying two, one 30" for my second stage and a 40" length for a deco bottle.
Two questions:
-Anybody know if they've resolved all the problems with these hoses tending to unscrew themselves? Maybe it was specific to 'Miflex' but I remember it being an issue some time back.
-Secondly, any advice on whether or not these would be suitable for a stage bottle? Would like to get the longer one for a 40 cu/ft. sling bottle but have heard rumors that this hose does not like to stay put under the bottle bands.
Thanks for any help.
-Erik
RAY T I can only answer your first question since I don't do stage bottles. I have had a few of these hoses for several years--on my primary reg and my bailout bottle reg. I've found these hoses to be great. They're very flexible and comfortable. I've never had any of them unscrew themselves......and I probably log over 100-150 dives per year.
ALEJANDRO A Erik,
I have both the Miflex and the phantom and have never experienced any issue whatsoever. I like the lighter weight and free feeling of these hoses. They are great on travelers.
As for a pony bottle my friend has it set up with a Miflex hose but not sure how he has it set up. He has never complained of any issues either. There were some initial issues with the ends coming undone but it appears that has been resolved.
TODD F I have been using these hoses for a couple of years without issues. I had only heard of issues with the HP Miflex hoses. I am a big fan of braided LP hoses, which I use in a long hose configuration. Cant answer the stage bottle question.
