Shopper Does the light burn hot out of the water? What would be your suggestion for using out of the water?
MONROE H I use this torch in and out of the water. It does not burn hot in either environment. In fact, when not diving, I keep it next to our bed and use it as our primary flashlight.
I have used it extensively in Mexican cenotes, where it performs better than any other self contained torch and is on par with torches that have separate power supplies. The light is extremely white and perfectly even from side to side; no hot spots. I would buy it again (will eventually order another). I recommend it whole heartedly.
TODD N The light does not burn hot out of water, being LED very little heat is produced; however, only having owned this light for about 6 months it has topped working. I am a technician and I have stripped down the light and cannot find the problem. When I place it on charge it does not appear to charge. It appears the battrey if uflluy charged and this is refelcted when measured with a volt meter. The torch does not turn on.I live in the Marshall islands and cannot return things under warranty.
DAVID D I haven't used it much out of the water but it is extremely bright in the water.
MIRO P It does not burn hot out of the water. It gets warm after a few minutes, but not hot. I have used it several times on the high setting for an extended period of time (45 min). The battery life is great, but beware that it doesn't go dim to "warn" you. It just goes out. Keeping a backup is prudent anyway. The light quality is amazing. No hot spot. It has a perfectly circular pattern. It is a wide angle, short range beam that is great for wrecks and caves. I've had mine down on about 30 dives so far. No problems.
VICKY D I have used mine out the water on many occasions and have no issues with heat. Since they are LED they run a little cooler than other dive lights! Hope this helps.
MATT M Although I don't use it to much out of the water, when I am showing off to my dive buddies on how bright it is, I have not noticed any excessive heat. It is my favorite light, and it never fails to impress!
