Comments about Intova ISS 2000 Strobe Head only, no bracket:
I've only used this on a few dives so far, but had lots of issues. Mostly the issues were related to the flash not firing (even with link cable). I think these were largely things that I can fix, though some seem to be strobe issues. I did get some good photos, but still working out the best way to connect everything and hold everything in place as the default accessories are insufficient. I need to do lots more experimentation but hopefully it will work out in the end.

I have just recently purchast this strob and is the first one i have owned and do not have a great deal of experience but i thought this unit was great. I first use it an a cenotas dive in the mayan riviara. It worked great. When we were deep in the cavern an it was pitch black i had to use my tourch for a little extra light and everything turned out great.
A must have for underwater photography!

Does exactly what you expect an underwater strobe to do, at a VERY affordable price. Controls are very easy to work underwater. Probably of more use with scuba vs. snorkeling (where you still have sunlight to work with), but can be used for both applications. I chose to use the camera on AUTO flash mode rather than dedicated. Natural light is always preferable when you can. I also found a very nice position with the adjustable arm, which gave the sensors on the strobe a solid "view" of the camera flash, which made the optical cable less necessary. You may want the optical cable however for a different strobe to camera setup. All in all, I could not have been more pleased. With newly charged (rechargeable) AA batteries, the recycle times were far shorter than those listed.

Be careful starting the battery cover. The double o-rings make it a little touchy getting the threads started with out cross threading them.

Works well but you will need a diffuser to soften the light. I have not found one yet. The fiber optic connection between the strobe and camera is pretty bad and falls out. I needed a lot of electrical tape to hold it in place and had to tie on the velcro connector to the optic head because it fell off.
