I purchased vests for my wife and me a couple of years ago. The bottoms were not included, only the actual vest.
By the way, we are very happy with the vests. We used them on an extended trip to the Red Sea and they were very comfortable and warm.

I wear a Hyperstretch 5/3 hooded vest over a Hyperstretch 3 mil fullsuit and have excellent results with that combo. The hooded vest is very comfortable and makes the fullsuit much warmer. I put on the vest with the hood back of my head, then put on my mask with snorkel, and then pull the hood over my head so the mask strap is UNDER the hood. Works great!!! And you don't have to worry about getting a good mask seal.
You also have the option of just wearing your mask with the hood back of your head as you submerge, and you can then pull the hood over your head for warmth at any time.
I recommend that the dinosaur instructors get a clue and a Hyperstretch hooded vest.
WILLIAM L the hooded vest is just one piece which covers your head and chest. I usually layer it with another suit- thickness depending on water temp. I find the vest gives me a lot of flexibility with exposure protection. Hope this helps

MICHAEL M No, it is one piece which is the attraction. I wear it in conjunction with a wetsuit to keep my head area warm and to prevent colder water from entering the wetsuit down the neck. I love it as an intermediate step between 3 mil and 5 mil wetsuits. It provides extra warmth with out a lot of additional buoyancy.
