Questions about this item:
paul p Do you or did you have fogging problems< if so what did you do to remedy it? thank you
MATTHEW D I notice fogging on all masks, I remedy this by purchasing some defogger gel, it is well worth the few dollars.
SARAH F Hi, there, Paul. I haven't really had any fogging problems with this mask, but to be honest, I'm not sure if that's because this is a great mask (which it is) or because I defog before every dive, anyway. This mask seems to be quite good "as is," but if you do have any problems with fogging, put a dab of Johnson's baby shampoo inside your mask, rub it around on the glass, and then rinse it out and go diving/snorkeling! My husband and I always bring Johnson's baby shampoo with us on dive trips and have had consistently excellent results. If it starts fogging up again, just use a bit more shampoo! :) I hope that helps. Happy diving!
ERIK L This will sound odd but I took a butane torch and "burned" off the excess film from the interior of the mask. I only used the torch for a quick second. The film I believe is from the production process. If there is a better way I do not know what it is! Good luck.
ANDREW B The defogging is a common issue with a new mask. The problem comes from the releasing agent used during the manufacturing process to help get it out of the mold. Two common fixes are:
1. Use tooth paste and rub it on the inside of the glass several times for several minutes. Then use a good anti fog such as 5000 PSI gel.
2. Use a lighter and run it along the inside of the glass . This method is said to work best, but hard to due after spending hard earned money on a mask. Then still use a good anti fog again.
STEPHEN W First, make sure that you have cleaned the lens to remove any film left over from the manufacturing of the mask. I have used commercial lens cleaner (sea Buff), toothpaste and Soft Scrub at various times.
Then, use any mask anti-fog treatment; either commercial ones for scuba masks or baby shampoo.
RICHARD S I never experienced any problems with the mask fogging - and that's right out of the box. I just rub spit over the inside of the lens (and rinse with sea water) each time before I put it on and there is no problem. I use my mask 20 - 30 hours per week.
ZACH P No more problem than any other mask. I use johnsons baby shampoo and rinse a little before I go down
REUBEN R minimal fogging problem. the issue may have been i was too excited to wear them for the dives that i forgot to wash off the chemicals that are in the mask when you first buy them.
i use standard defog for all my dives.
QUINLIN C No problems with fogging. I use Sea Gold drops.
Joanne D I am a returning diver after 14 years....and need a good mask. This mask seems like it will be okay. Does one size fit all for this mask? Joanne
SHAWN D Its a really nice mask it fits me fine but I'm 6'2 210lbs only thing you have to get used to is it being frameless if your not used to one. somtimes water slips under the nose peice when your looking up under the water. the clarity is awesome though! and it is very durable.

MARTIN M this is an awesome mask.. it gives great vision while clearing very easy, the fit is smoking as well.. another mask to consider is the scubapro black silicone mask, ,,,very similar to the Hollis.. but cheaper...i have both. i'd buy them both...
both are a little bit different..and i always bring 2 masks on every dive.
GREGORY C Mask is of the highest quality and clarity!
I have worn it on over 20 dives since purchase.
Would recommend it to every diver.
If you have a narrow face you may need to try this mask on just like all other masks .
Would recommend this mask!
Greg C
TESSA S Yes, there is only one size of the mask, but I like it quite a bit. It fits well and is very clear. I think if most masks fit you, this one should be fine, as well. Hope this helps!
RICHARD S I am 6' 0" tall and 170 lbs with an average-sized face; it is a very comfortable and dry mask for me. It is also very clear - great glass. I dive about 30 hours per week as a commercial spearfisherman ( no SCUBA), so we work from 30-110 feet. I love the mask, it has a great field of view and the volume is low enough that it's easy to equalize as you go down. I would buy it again, and I would also use it for SCUBA.
JUSTIN J This mask fits both myself and my wife without any problems. This is one of my favorite masks I have ever used.
QUINLIN C Yes, i think this mask fits all. I have a larger sized head, and it fits fine.
Joanne D Thank you Quinlin....I have gotten all positive feedback and order this mask.
Joanne
GAVIN C Joanne,
I bought one of these masks, but have only carried it as a spare so far. With that caveat in mind, I would still recommend it as a good gamble for general fit. All masks are a little bit of a risk until you try them in the water, but this one seems well made and the skirt is flexible. Just putting it on I would rank it high for comfort and apparent seal. I have owned 10-12 masks over the years and this seems like a good one.

Joanne D Hi Gavin:
Thank you.
I will give this mask a go....I'm just getting back into diving, can't wait.
I live in Carlsbad, CA..so, you know, the water is cold...The other question I have is
what do you think about a wet suit or dry suit for the Pacific Oceans cold water.
What thickness would be best? Also, can you recommend fins?
Thank you Gavin.
Joanne
GAVIN C Joanne,
Once I started diving in a drysuit I never went back--they are great. They require new skills and techniques in order to be safe, but once they're mastered it's a whole new (and better) world. Drysuits are not dual-purpose, i.e. not good for free diving. I prefer a neoprene drysuit, and I do not wear a BC, only a backpack. My favorite is from the following small custom shop in Monterey, CA called Otter Bay Suits. The custom suit is no more expensive, is very fast in the water, has inherent buoyancy and is comfortable.
For fins, I prefer the IDI Frogfoot model. They're a little hard to find, but outstanding if you like a large high-resistance fin. They are opposite of the current split-fins in terms of function and technique. The big fins are faster for me, and more efficient, which equates to longer bottom times. They are not as good for face-down surface swimming, but good everywhere else.

MARGARET S it comes with one of those standard plastic boxes you get most masks in when you buy it ... its for a rather large face so if you have a small / normal size face i would go for another mask the strap is not the best so i would buy a neoprene one if you buy this mask
MARTIN W Yes....this comes with a plastic case. I Iove this mask!! Aloha = )
RICHARD S In a word, yes. I'm very happy with the mask. As a commercial spearfisherman, I am in the water up to eight hours per day, five days per week, and it is very comfortable. Even to depths of 90 feet, I don't get mask squeeze. Highly recommended for the comfort, visibility and clarity.
Shopper Does the " Hollis M1 Frameless Mask" come with a strap?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Hollis M1 mask comes with a rubber strap.
