Comments about Hollis Gear Hollis Aluminum Backplate, Black:
I was "concern" for its strength because it was made in aluminium. I was wrong. It is light and very strong. I believe the aluminium sheet has been tempered to give it toughness and still flexible enough not to crack. All edges deburr very nice and the Black coating tough. I find the slots are just nice in terms of clearance. the many other holes can be used to make it a side mount with some modifications. I find there is no down side to this product. I will last a very long time.
