Questions about this item:
mike m I bought this computer about 1yr ago from you guys. Took it for a weekend of diving that went well last weekend, then when I got back and tried to log the dives, it did the usual number countdown then flashes "cal" it will not leave this cal mode. I have pulled battery and left out for two days still same issue. Any suggestions?
JEANNETTE M S Sorry Mike----I have never had that problem.
Frank L Still under warranty, send back to us and we can send it back to the manufacturer.
CRAIG P Sorry no suggestions. I have not seen this problem in my unit.
WOODROW S I have never seen this on any of my 3 units. Sounds like it needs to go back to the factory for service.
TIMOTHY H Cal means it needs to go back for calibration. Sometimes, the computers don?t work quite as well as advertised. Send it back with a discussion of what is wrong, they will fix/replace and send back to you.
ORVILLE H Not sure I'll be much help here, they do have up dated versions of the software to help w/ downloadings. connect with the genesis web page.
Shopper will this computer fit my sherwood console?
DAVID A Yes, it should. We have them in our consoles, and also have wrist mounts which we rarely use.
CRAIG P It depends on the age of your current console. The older ones were larger in diameter, older being about >6-10 years, so a newer, smaller style is required. Otherwise the computer will just fall out.
WOODROW S Don't have a sherwood console, so can't say for sure, but these things are usually pretty standard. Mine came with an adapter sleeve to size it up to fit my genesis console, so it probably will work. If the sherwood console has a 2 3/8" round hole in it (inside dimensions), you should be good to go.
PAUL D Did not fit in mine...hopefully they have an adapter/bushing for it!
MICHAEL H Yes it will fit.If you decide to get this computer use great care when you change the batterie.I flooded mine by not securing the battery door propley. I like this computer and bought a new one
DAVID D Should fit with no problem. Genesis and Sherwood gauges are usually interchangable and will fit either console
K T The size is 2.25 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. If you are replacing an old computer, you can compare the dimensions.
WILLIAM N Yes it fits , may a guard/face protector to keep in better, I think it was relatively smaller. Have not used it few years.
HELEN D Yes. It fits fine.
Shopper what's the difference in this and the resource pro?
RILLA K Actually, I sold this one on line - didn't like the two button operation - way to confusing to set and operate. I bought a Tusa Element - but the Oceanic ones are the best.
MARCY A Sorry, I don't know what the resource pro is
WOODROW S These two computers are very similar, although the React Pro is slightly more advanced over the Resource Pro. The React is a two button gauge, which makes navigating the various screens a little easier, where the Resource is a one button setup, which makes navigating a little touchier. Also, the React has full date keeping ability, and runs the current date in it's display along with a clock. The Resource has only the clock. They both have automatic safety stop countdown features, and in practical use, I find little difference between them. I carry a React Pro on my wrist as a primary gauge, and also a Resource Pro in my gauge console as a backup. I have noted that the Resource Pro seems a little more conservative than the React Pro, and will show accumulating nitrogen a little faster than the React. My wife also wears a React, and her gauge shows the same rate that my React does. My dive shop is at a loss to explain the difference, but the difference is small so I have basically been ignoring it. As a basic dive computer at a really good price, you can hardly go wrong with these computers. Yes, they are basically 'hockey pucks' on your wrist, but if you stick one in your gauge console, this ceases to be a factor. I like mine on my wrist, however, and have never seen the need to pay hundreds of dollars more to get something flashier which basically does the exact same thing. To each his own. Woody
ROB R One is nitrox compatible the other is not.
TagFlip E I recently purchased the Genesis CG5736 200ft Compact Console, will this computer fit in that console?
Frank L It should fit, yes.
Shopper i have an older genesis react that measures 2 3/8 diam. my wrist boot strap broke, are these boots still available?
JEANNETTE M S I have no idea. It was a great little computer.
TIMOTHY H The boots are available on-line. You may have to shop around a bit, but I bought one a year or so ago. Also, you can still very easily get a console that it will fit into. Oceanic makes one for about $20.00 or so. Hope this answers your question. Mahalo,
tim
CRAIG P I had an older genesis also which required getting a new consule to fit it because of the smaller diameter of the new module. I doubt the older style would be available.
Shopper Is this unit available in metric?
LeisurePro S Units can be set by the user.
Shopper Where do I get the cable to hook up to PC?
LeisurePro S Here is the cable for hooking the React Pro to a PC.
Shopper What is the depth rating of this unit?
LeisurePro S This computer will operate to a depth of 250 feet.
Shopper What type of battery does the React use?
LeisurePro S The new model takes a 3 volt CR2450 lithium battery (watch-type battery).
Shopper Will this computer shut down after going into Deco for 24 hours?
LeisurePro S The React Pro will shut itself off automatically 2 hours after a dive. If you would like to read more, here is an online version of the user manual.
Shopper what are the dimensions of this computer?
LeisurePro S This module has a 1.75 inch diameter.
Shopper Does this module come with a hose mount boot and lens scratch protector?
LeisurePro S Lens protector yes. Boot no.
Shopper What is the no decompression limit of this computer at 60 ft on air, at sea level?
Shopper If I use this computer on a weekend trip and day 1 I dive nitrox 30% first dive and air second dive. Then on the following day nitrox 32% first dive and air second dive. will this computer be able to keep with with decompression limits as I convert from air/nitrox in same day
