Used this in Hawaii to prevent sunburn (with dive
skin). Pretty good protection for the situation. Would not be enough for deeper dives but great for snorkeling in windy, warm water and or preventing too much sun exposier.

This hood is good supplementary exposure protection. It's easy to pack and carry. The fit around the head and upper neck is fine, but there seems to be a lot of extra material around the lower neck and shoulders, and you have to fold it over to stuff it into the wetsuit. It may be better to use a hooded vest.

I bought this as a supplement to my shorty for diving in Caribbean waters during the chilliest months (Dec - Feb). Works wonderfully (although Iw would want something thicker in really cold water!). Not very bulky so it squeezes in the gear bag nicely, but keeps you much warmer (what do they say - 50% of heat is lost through the head?). Nice and comfortable. Wonder why I never bought one years ago.
