Questions about this item:
CHARLES P Does this product strap on to your waist or your thigh? Will it constrict air flow when driving dry, and does it strap with a clip or a rubber band material?
MATTHEW W Multiple Mounting options available
CHRISTOPHER B As I recall, this clips to your waist belt and has another strap to secure it to your thigh (similar to a tactical holster). I don't believe the strap would restrict air flow at all.
SEAN C It sits at your thigh. It has a wide stretchy band around your thigh as well as traditional webbing that loops around a 2" harness waist strap to keep it from dropping down when vertical.
STEPHEN B It straps to your thigh. It has an adjustable elastic strap that goes around your leg, as well as a plastic buckle on the back side (not shown in picture) to attach to your harness or belt to keep it from sliding off down your leg.
TOMASZ S It straps to your belt by plastic buckle and to your tight by wide rubber strap. No problems with air flowas far as I am concern.
JOHN T The Thigh Pocket straps to your thigh. Additionally, I rigged a clip to my BC it also attaches to. Otherwise the Thigh Pocket tends to slip down the leg on which it's strapped. I like mine and use it every time I dive. It's big enough to hold a rolled up dive sausage and a small goody bag. I dive in a wet suit, so I can't speak about it's functionality with a dry suit.
LARRY M I use it with my dry suit. It has a loop that goes over the webbing on your BCD belt. The loop clips to the pocket so you can dive without the pocket easily. I remove the pocket when taking the BCD on a trip. traveling. Takes one second to reattach when diving at home. There is a strap that goes around your leg to hold the pocket in place while diving, with a standard clip. You can adjust how snug it is going around your leg. Good design and good construction. The only difficulty is remembering to unclip the leg strap when taking your BCD off.
ROBERT L It has an elastic Velcro strap which is meant to wrap on your thigh. What I did was cut off that strap, and then put a small carabiner clamp on each of those little plastic loops you can see on the shoulders of the pouch. I then clamp those onto either side of my cumberbun after I get into my b.c. I keep my safety sausage, a flashlight, and a small camera in it. Very accessible like a fanny pack. I do not notice it in any negative way while swimming. Glad to answer any other questions. -Rob
Ron P Charles,
This product has a vertical strap, with a loop, that will slide onto 2" webbing, such as a weight belt. I straps to the thigh using a padded, buckled, elastic strap. I use it when I want extra pockets, when I am wet suit diving, or with swim suit and t-shirt, etc. On my dry suit, I purchased and installed glue-on pockets. The strap might constrict air flow in a dry suit, but I can't speak first hand since I haven't really tried it...
Hope this helps.
KENNETH P It has a loop that you thread your waistband through, and a strechy band cinches with velcro around your thigh.
It probably would restrict airflow in a drysuit, I only use it when diving wet.
SEBRON S Straps to the thigh. It has a strap that goes vertical and connects to a I think a d-ring. The leg strap is a combination of elastic and a small clap. Very secure and unobtrusive. Buy it! It's great to have that storage off the vest! I store my slate and compass and a small light.
MICHAEL S It will not stay in place. If your drysuit is cordora or neoprene, buy a glue-on pocket and glue it on. As long as your drysuits is not nylon, this will work well. Otherwise, X-Shorts from Dive-Xtras work well for over nylon drysuits.
Morsi L is it big enough to fit a signal tube and a finger reel ?
TOMASZ S Yes, it will. As long as a signal tube is astandard size.
NEAIL H Yes. It will fit those but not have much more room. I use a Carter bag and spool and attach it to my bailout cylinder. This bag will hold my backup mask, scissors, mirror, jon line, etc.
DONALD B Yes, I'm sure it will. I use a large real and float and I can almost get it in pocket.
YUE YET Y hi, i have 2 thigh pockets from diverite.
i dont know how big your handflare is. my
bag usually contains a handreel, small smb,
a reef hook & a whistle. it still has space to
put other stuff i pick up from the sea floor
JOSEPH P Morsi, you can fit your safety sausage and fingerspool. I have a 75' reel and a large see-me-float that doubles as a lift bag, they are bigger than what you are asking about and fit fine. In laymans terms, you can fit both fists in at one time, to give you an idea of the size. I love mine. -Joe Pop-
RICHARD W these are the biggest pain in the but contraptions ive ever used. get sewn on or pull up neoprene pocket pants.
CHRISTOPHER B If you're using the common tube about 36" long, then the answer is "easily". If you have the much bigger DAN SMB, then you have to get a little creative with the folding to fit the SMB and a reel.
WILLIAM S I dive Diverite's back plate use the zipper pocket on my waist webbing belt. The thigh pocket I use for night diving foi extra flashlights and strobes, etc.
I just clip my reels and safety sausage to D rings on the back part of my gear. You could put the in this pocket and they should fit as long as its a 4' sausage and a reel without a handle....or you could attach to D rings either on the pocket or on your rig.
Hope this helps...Bill
JOHN T It's big enough to fit a safety sausage. I don't know about a finger reel. I use it to store a writing slate and a small goody bag. And using a zip tie, I had to rig it to attach to my BC. Otherwise it slides down my leg.
RUBEN S It is. I have cutters, a spare mask and wetnotes in mine. A fingerspool and a normal sized tube should easily fit.
STEPHEN B Yes it should be, I keep my tube, a backup light, and some tables in it easily.
DR STEPHEN K Great idea..and that's what I keep in mine..
take care GOD BLESS
ROBERT L I put a rolled up safety sausage in it, around which I have rolled up about 30 feet of thin rope. I also put a Sealife camera and a flash light in it, so it is fairly roomy and should look after your gear OK.
PERSONAL S You can fit a signal tube and a finger reel in the Dive-Rite Thigh Pocket with room to spare. The pocket is larger than any BC storage compartment I have ever seen.
In fact I have stowed a full size cave reel in it and still had room to spare.
I use a OMS signal tube and store the reel on the bottom with the tube on top.
This is a great product and works well but be careful not to over pack it with too much stuff as it is easy to get carried away with what will fit in there.
Shopper How big is this bag?
LeisurePro S This bag is 6" x 9" x 2".
