ALFRED S Terrific dive watch, never needs winding or shaking or a battery, as it charges by sunlight, I wear it in real life as well as in the water. Easy to read underwater as well.

Ashley R I really like this watch and want to buy it for my boyfriend who dives often and also works all through the night doing sea turtle patrols - Is there a backlight, or do the numbers glow enough that he would be able to read the watch at 2 in the morning when it's completely dark?
CARL A No, the dial on this watch is not backlit. The hands and hour marks on the face, and the zero mark on the bezel will glow for over an hour after being exposed to a light source.
PHILIP B I really like this watch because it is very, very accurate and does not need to be wound or use batteries. I occasionally wear it diving and it works fine. If it is exposed to bright light the numerals and hands will glow brightly for a while but I would say that it has typical luminosity. It is not as bright as the watches that have tritium gas in small tubes, such as Traser. But it's a great value in my opinion.

FREDERICK S No backlight but the hands glow enough to get an idea of the time. The numbers cannot be read. Don't plan on using the second hand at night.
MILES K Ashley, this watch does not have a back light. Also, the luminous dial markers do not retain brightness for very long. If you shine a flashlight on the dial real quick, you recharge the face and it should last for a few hours. I have owned mine for a few years and this watch is indestructible.

Does it have enough holes in the band for such small wrist?
GERALD N Opinion: this watch is a lot smaller than many dive watches. If you wear it for diving, it will be fine. If you wear it for everyday use, it will be noticed (the face is about 1.5 inches, ,1.75 inches with the lock down screw).I have a small wrist for a guy, and it fits well when I'm swimming or during everyday use. It fits over all my wetsuits as well.
My wife owns the women's version of this watch and loves it. But since it is smaller, it is more difficult to see the face.
CARL A I have a wist that is 7 1/4" in circumference, and when I wear it the band has four more holes to it's smallest size. It appears that it will go down to about 5 3/4". The body of the watch itself is 1 5/8" in diameter.
TERESA F Yes, if you like the look of an overall bigger mens vs ladies watch. I got this watch for my husband, who although very tall, doesn't have big wrists. He is really happy with it. I just tried it on based on the question, and have very small wrists and it actually does fit - on one of the last holes, as they go nearly all the way around, plus have two bands to hold the end down. It's a heavier/bigger watch than I'm used to - but I tend to wear much smaller watches. Hope this helps.
L W I am only looking at the larger watch because I thought women wears large watches for one reason or another, plus the small watch's date window is almost impossible to see.
TOM C The men's version is about 1.5" in diameter, and the strap goes down to about a 6.5" circumference. The women's version is about 1.25" and goes down to about a 6.25" circumference wrist. By the way, I love the simplicity and durability of this watch. Even after closing my SUV's back hatch on it, it is still waterproof and running a year later. No extra buttons and knobs means less chances for leakage, and the solar charging means you never have to open it to change a battery (another way to kill a dive watch).
ROBERT F This model is actually smaller than some of the other Citizen diving watches. That said, it is comparable a regular full size non-diving watch, it is thicker than the average dress watch, looks normal on a mans wrist. If the woman in question has petite wrists, then it might be too large to be comfortable. Look at the citizen website, I'm not sure but there may be a women's downsized version of this model. I have been very happy with this watch except that because the crystal sticks above the bezel it has sustained some scratches over the years. I am looking to replace the crystal with a sapphire one. You might want to consider that when you make your choice. The eco-drive is fantastic and has performed flawlessly.
ALFRED S The watch is about 40 mm, thus rather large for a woman, but I assume you want the watch for diving, not as a fashion statement. I wear mine all the time, so for a guy it is about the right size in terms of look. I think the size would be fine for a woman as a diver.
When I wear the watch on my wrist without a wet suit, in a pool for example, I am on the fifth hole from the inside, with six holes beyond the one I use. There might not be enough holes for a women, depending on the size of your wrist when worn without a wet suit. Of course even a 3-mm wet suit means I am several holes further out. I assume the band would be ok for a woman wearing a wet suit. I'll test this next time I am diving with a woman wearing a wet suit.
L W My wife had the women one before and I can hardly see the date on it. Now that is flooded and looking for replacement. I thought the trend is for women to wear large watches and men to wear clocks on their wrist.
RONALD P This watch is almost 2 inches across where the band attaches. There is 3 holes left to make it smaller. If you was using this watch with a wet suit it would probably be O.K.
PHILIP B I believe the case is 43 mm. You can compare that to other watches. To me it is the typical size for this type of watch - it's not "huge". You could probably easily add holes to the strap or get a new strap if that is an issue. If you wear it over your wetsuit sleeve, it should fit fine. Mine has been absolutely accurate and I often wear it diving. Excellent watch and great deal for the price in my opinion.

STEVE C The diameter of the watch is 43mm at it's widest (including the crown).
About 40mm on average.
GERALD N The round part of the watch surface (the bezel) is approximately 1 and 3/8 inches. With the screw down knob it is about 1 and 5/8 inches. I do not consider this a large watch, but it is bigger than a lady's watch. I have a small hand and wrist and it is comfortable.
I think it is a great product and would purchase it again.
CARL A Case diameter is 41mm.
TERRY T This watch measures 1 and 1/2 inches across the bezel and 1 and 3/4 inches from one side of the watch case to the tip of the screw-in watch stem. I've used this watch as a dive watch as well as my daily time piece and I've never had a problem with it or with the three others I bought and gave to my grown chidren.
JAMES I From stem (with in the "screwed in and locked position" the watch measures 1 and 3/4"; top to bottom from outside of bezel at the 12 (0 time on bezel) and bottom below the 6 (30 minutes on bezel) 1 and 1/2".
