Too long. 1 to 1.5 screw threads stick out bottom and might tear a hole in your gear. This should be the short flush mount version that doesn't do this. The longer versions will stick out if you don't have enough gear to span the distance, but this short version should butt up tight with no protrusion. The protrusion is slight, so may go un-noticed until a rip is seen in your gear. Careful. Should be OK if you use Red Locktite and do not drive it home tight so there is no protrusion. A warning should be noted to limit liability !

The male screw is too long, and protrudes below the nut which allows the sharp screw end to cut other items it lays against. I am shocked OMS doesn't see this and fix it. I know there are longer versions that will always protrude if mis-used, but this one is the short version that shouldn't, and the 1.25 threads that stick out will fool someone until it is too late and they rub a hole in their wing bladder. I wonder if these weren't 'brokered' to discounters rather than scrapped. They should be about $6 each (retail), not less than $3 .... hmmmmmm.
