Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
GEORGE F This BC is primarily a back flotation BC made of durable 1000 denier nylon. It's easy to adjust and eliminate unwanted pressure on the chest. The integrated weight pockets are roomy and easy to reach. The AIR 2 streamlines the equipment by eliminating the need for a separate octopus. There's plenty of dump valves and D-rings. The Sure-Cinch tank band is the best I've ever used...my tank never slips.
Daniel M I was told that back flotation BCs aren't as good for spearfishing. If comparing between the Knighthawk and the Classic Unlimited, what should be taken into account?
Frank L I would generally disagree with that statement, although it boils down to personal preference.
A back inflation BC leaves the front part of you unencumbered, and you are more streamlined in the water. To me, that is perfect for spearfishing. You results may differ.
Shopper prouduct include AIR2?
Shopper How much does it weigh?
GEORGE F The weight is not indicated on the BC tags nor did I find it on Scubapro website. You may want to contact them directly.
JOE G A knighthawk with AIR 2 weighs in the 8 - 9 lb. range, depending on size.
Shopper Does this BCD use regular lead weights or are special weight packets necessary?
GEORGE F Any weights will work. The pockets are large enough to accept standard lead weights of various lbs. or lead shot bags. I have used both. Currently, I use a combination of lead weights in each of the integrated pockets and 2 lb. shot bags in the trim pockets.
JOE G You can use regular lead weights, however "soft" weight pouches are preferred as they keep the wear off the weight pouches. Hope this helps.
Reggie R Is this the 4rth generation Air 2 included in this set?
GEORGE F Yes, I believe it is. There are no markings on the AIR2 itself to indicate it, but in visiting Scubapro's website, the 4th generation device shown is exactly what is on my Knighthawk (which is also a newer version than what was on my previous Superhawk BC).
