Questions about this item:
Shopper I'm female, long torso 5'11'' , 140 lbs, 29" waist . If i got a medium, would i most likely have to get a cummerbund to get it to fit?
CHAD H I'd say it depends where you're diving. Here in the Northwest, where we're pretty loaded with weight, I'd recommend a cummerbund. When the weight pockets on the BC are fully loaded, the sides become so stiff that the don't cinch well. I started using a weight belt so that the BC was more comfortable. And I'm 5'9" and 160lbs (male). I'd probably recommend the cummerbund in any case.
ALAN C I'm 5'10" , 170 lbs., and a 32" waist. I have a large 5 oceans and don't need the cummerbund. But because you have a small waist you may want to consider it. This way it would not try to ride up your neck while entering the water or in a vertical position. I hope this has helped you with your decision. Lee
TRAVIS D Hello there the BCD comes with a cummberbund! and I think your size a medium will be great I have 3 BCD's each foe different types of diving and I do like the 5 Oceans I am 5' 9" 160 with about a 30 in waist and it fits great
TRAVIS D I am 5'9" 160 with a 31" wast and the BCD fits great it does come with a cummberbund
MATTHEW B i think it should fit. i have a large with a 32" waist and mine fits like a glove
LCDR S No, it should fit you just fine as-is.
JASON R I am 6' 2" and got a large and it fits great. The waist closure pulls pretty tight, I am obviously larger 200 lbs 35 waist, but I could be much smaller and it would be able to fit snug.
Eric C How to take care of it?
GERALD J That is a simple process. Be sure to fresh water rinse it after every dive. This is a fine BCD. Simple care and it will last a long time.

CHAD H Not sure if you have a specific question, but washing it after each use is a must. I also take off the shoulder mounted valve to put fresh water inside and rinse that out before storage. Otherwise, it's pretty standard.
JESSE B You should immerse in fresh water after use as well as letting water into the inside of the vest to rinse any salt residue from the interior. The BC should then be left to dry in an well aired environment but not in direct sunlight.
RICKY C It takes nothing to care for it, just rinse it off with fresh water after dives and your good to go.
KEEGAN V After use, rinse with fresh water. Also, inflate the bc and using the mouth piece with the valve held open, flush the inside of vest with fresh water. Completely empty vest of water, let dry and store in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
MARK L I rinse it daily after diving. If it won't be used for some time; I unscrew the inflation hose to the air bladder and rinse it out as well. After it's dry I put a little air in it and store it.
Adotest A Buy it and take care of it :)
Shopper I'm 5'8", 155lbs, with a 32" waist. What size is recommended?
CHAD H I'd also recommend a medium. I'm 5' 9" and just over 160. My medium fits well.
Adotest A And I would recommend a large.
LeisurePro S I would recommend a medium.

Whats in the box:BCD, Inflator, Low Pressure Hose, Two QLD Weight Pockets, Owners Manual The 5 Oceans Back Inflation BCD is prepared for any adventure - its lightweight weighing 7.5 lbs (3.4 kg) and packs flat for travel to the tropics and, at the same time, supplies plenty of lift, integrated weight capacity and range of adjustment to be worn in cold water over thick wetsuits or dry suits. The 5 Oceans air cell uses a combination of BioFlex material and bungee cords to maintain the streamline profile, yet allows for 40 lbs (18 kg) of lift. Your equipment should enhance, not hinder the joy and exhilaration of diving. Nowhere is this more important than with BC's, where comfort and freedom of movement must be balanced against function and durability. Responding to this challenge led AERIS design engineers to create BioFlex - a unique "living fabric" that stretches, flexes and conforms to the body. BioFlex is an extraordinary fabric, which stretches, fully inflated up to 30% over conventional nylon or polyurethane BC materials, the idea being that if a material could stretch while remaining airtight, you could make smaller air cells, creating less bulk and drag underwater while achieving high volumes of lift when required. Durable fadeless 1,000 Denier Cordura construction. Exterior abrasion points of the 5 Oceans are covered with this new "Fadeless" material- tough stuff that will hold up to years of extreme diving and keep that "new look" longer. Aeris Quick Lock & Release (QLR) Integrated Weight System that can accommodate up to 20 lbs (9 kg) is standard equipment on the 5 Oceans along with 10 lbs (4 .5 kg) in rear trim pockets. Your weights stay in position throughout the dive and do not shift around affecting buoyancy or position in the water. The weight pouches are simple to load and easy to release, best of all, the patented "positive-lock" system helps to ensure that they'll stay put. Versatile power inflation/deflation with lower pull-dump control, easy to use drop-down pocket , strategically placed stainless steel grommets for adding accessories, a dual-adjustable sternum strap for added stability and comfort, carry handle, tank positioning strap, carabineer with multiple attachment points all make this one great BCD. 5 Oceans comes in 6 sizes from XS to 2XL and 2 color accents. The 5 Oceans is covered by Aeris 30 day satisfaction guarantee and 24 month limited warranty.
