Ellis F Is this a cold water reg ?
FRANK S Here's the catalog info from OMS directly.
The new OMS? R-250 (40% Nitrox ready) 2nd stage features an adjustment knob for increased air flow and a Venturi assist for excellent WOB (work of breathing). The 40% Nitrox ready first stage incorporates a balanced diaphragm design that offers high performance and is clearly the choice for cold and/or contaminated water.
I hope that helps.
AYMAN K i have been using the same octupus for couple of years now, and it is a good octopus. it worked well for me at temperatures just below 60 F or about 16 Celcius. Again, it is an octopus, so my usage was limited. overall, it has very smooth air flow with min. effort.
GERARD L I've always used OMS,,,the bomb !!!..Why not ask,,OMS ???...My diving is in NY waters in summers,,,,bottom temps can be as low as middle 40's.. Nuff said !!!!...
JEFFREY G I used it in 50 degree water for 3 hours.
David P Ellis I live in Texas and dont really do any cold water diving ,so I cant give you an answer to that, but I can say its been a good reg.
PADI Instructor David
PETER M This regulator has no specific cold water rating, but I have used it on sub 40 degree water with no problems. In any cold water diving, the first stage being sealed is more critical.
Ellis F OK Thank you. I am starting to upgrade for teck diving .
JEFF W I have used this reg in 38 degree quarry water to 110 ft. depth without any freezing up or any other problems. Been diving with OMS for 4 years now... very satisfied with regs. Only brand I use for normal and tech diving.
Ellis F OK Thank you that is what I needed to know
